The ray of hope for Lynch may have been his 3-cone time. It was ridiculously good. Better than every RB and all but 1 of the WR's at the combine. It also happens to be the NE Patriots number combine talent evaluator for WR's. So it's some what relevant. His 40 time didn't help but then again Danny Amendola's 40 was 4.68. Jordan could drop a few pounds he said he adds to help handle the beating he takes all season. Play at maybe 208-210 and play a little faster. Then of course there's the matter of being able to catch the ball. Who knows....maybe?

Not so sure about that, if Lynch was put in the right type of offense and got many more reps
That's a big if. Fact is he wasn't in the right system in college and NFL teams aren't going to waste a roster spot on developing a 7th round/undrafted free agent.

Generally speaking that may be true but there are tons of cases of guys running bad 40 times or switching positions and being extremely successful in the NFL. I don't think he's going to be starting many games or seeing much of the field, and I don't know if he'll even make an active roster, but ruling it out completely is kind of ridiculous.
Give me the last QB that moved to Safety, WR, or RB with a 4.6-4.8 - 40 time

Lynch reminds me on this guy, just bc of his heart and chip on his shoulder alone. Not the biggest or fastest, but a tough SOB who will find a way to be a winner. The longer you watch the video below it just makes you think Jordan Lynch. Hometown hero, doubted bc of his size and speed, but at then end of the day there isnt a coach or player who wouldnt want him on his team.

Wolfe didnt necessarily have a bad NFL career. He was a great special teamer for the Bears which kept him in the league. As far as running back goes, he never really got an opportunity. The Bears offense wasnt a good fit for him, but thats not an excuse. Smaller running backs can be very effective in the NFL when they scheme them to get them in positions off screens and get outside. I remember the Bears just trying to run him up the middle all the time which was just plain stupid.
Lynch can supply the Bears with versatility, depth and special teams help. The Bears need back-ups at RB,QB and slot WR. While he could only be the #3 at any of these positions it might save them a roster spot. He'd still have to earn his keep on special teams.
Lynch would be the equivalent of a utility infielder in baseball. He's the kind of guy you would put in at any number of positions at various points throughout the game and trust that he will execute. Agree with Rabid Squirrel that he would be a #3 guy at any position, and because he could play #3 at multiple positions, it increases his value to a team due to his versatility.

And because the Bears had one of the worst O-lines in the NFL, even Forte wasn't getting many yards up the middle. Most of his yards were on a few plays when the line created a little bit of a hole. Not much chance of that when you only get 2 carries. He definitely would have done better on a different team.

Yes, and the Bears loved to run him straight up the middle. That's suicide.

Even then - if Forte ran straight up the middle and got stood up for no gain, it was because the blocking wasn't good. If Wolfe got stood up, it was because he was too small. Wolfe really did about as good up the middle as Forte usually did (again, except for 1 or 2 carries a game), in his few carries.
