So many factors of inches and luck affected this game that could have gone either way. Most seemed to go against the Bearcats. Chapman getting drilled in the face is about how this city feels right now I would think. Season a success? AAC reg. season Champions? Guess I would have to say yes, but a HOLLOW yes.

my disgust and disappointment was JJ and Rubles missing lots of layups and inside 5 feet bunnies. Guys have to make most of them if you're going to win in a tournament. Can't wait until next season when Gary Clark and the other big men come in and show HOW players with BB TALENT can score. Mick needs to reassess his coaching staff again and dump the one that teaches an offense for another one.

You should prepare to be disappointed. The only way anyone leaves the coaching staff this year is if they get a HC gig. Also probably not the best idea to rely on a bunch of true freshmen to do the bulk of the scoring next season unless you're kentucky.

Let's not dump on others mr tempered expectations/told ya so. We should beat Harvard, plain and simple. We are good enough and played well enough all year to do so. MSU is another story though. Still a very fun memorable season and first conf title in Years is a great accomplishment for these kids.

OH. My density precluded me from realizing that as I too picked UC to knock off MSU then bid farewell.

RE: The Aftermath
maybe it is becoming clear that it is not easy to advance, and secondly Huggs wasn't all that bad. He beat some good teams in the NCAA, and his teams also blew out some good teams in the NCAA, and he had some bad luck. Today wasn't about luck it was about awful shooting percentages right at the rim and some sloppy turnovers later in the second half. Aftermath? Don't know. Expectations?, mine are I guess make the tourney and that is it.

I loved how hard the team played in just about every game this year.

You really picked us to beat MSU in the 2nd round? Even though I consider myself to be the eternal optimist I couldn't bring myself to make that pick.

RE: The Aftermath
I was telling my girl around the 12 minute mark in the game that I would literally have SK take every single shot the rest of the game unless it's an uncontested layup. I bet we win and if not then at least we are going down with what got us there riding the shoulders of the all-American. I don't care how good they were guarding him, if he needs screens and picks, so what? I'd rather SK take an off-balance shot than anyone else. If he's not open, then move it around and go back to him in 6-8 seconds. If it takes the entire shot clock so be it. SK shoot it!

Congratulations eternal optimist, you were right today. They are beatable and winning a second round game is not like picking them to win the NC!

RE: The Aftermath
I chose not to fill out a bracket. Figured after years of having UC advance farther on paper than they had a realistic chance of advancing on the court maybe sitting out a year would bring luck to them. I am filling out at least 10 next year.

RE: The Aftermath
Today's game and the tourney in Memphis were disappointing.

But I'm far more disappointed that our rivalry with Louisville is now over. Replaced with the likes of Tulane, Tulsa, and ECU. And the upcoming football season looks bleak as UC sits and waits for a chair to open up in this cruel game of musical chairs.

Filled with the sting of a loss, some on here blame Mick for not advancing the team further. Based on my disappointment, I still blame UC's leadership (all those past and present) for not advancing the University further. They had much more to work with than Mick.

UC and UConn fighting to get out of the AAC in video below:

They've gone from a Tier 3 institution in 2004 to the #119 ranked University in the country...the leadership is doing the right thing. We can't do a whole hell of a lot with what we've been given and the terrible fan support we have and will continue to have.

Sounds exactly like President Winkler in my day. 04-clap2 For Academics.

My post was entirely about Athletics. Your comment, "...the terrible fan support we have and will continue to have" is exactly what I'm hoping UC avoids. But you may be right - that's what we had with Fonzie.

What was our record at home? Terrible support? Poor support for low majors and very good support for conference games. You think Harvard's arena is rocking? Purdue has great fan support and they are in the cellar.

We can get 10,000 fans now for sure, but in a metro area of 2.2M people, I would think it would be MUCH easier than it is. Our fan support is bad not because of who comes to the games, buy because we don't have many hardcore fans outside of those people.

I'm pretty disappointed with the loss and that Rubles & Jackson went 8-24. They missed so many layups. I wish Cronin coached a style more like Pitino and less like Huggins.

He can't make shots for them. How many great looks did they have and just plain missed today? Same thing happened to WVU Tuesday night. It's up to the players to make shots, coaches can't do it for them. All they can do is try to get them the best looks possible.

I remember when we lost to Miss St in the Elite 8 in 1996....Flint was 1 for 12

Rubles and JJ were like that today

Every time Rubles looked toward the rim contemplating a shot, I yelled "NO!" at the television.
