The Aftermath
I really liked this team. really loved this team. Hate to see it end this way. 1 and done. All the talking heads win and we lose. Terrible right now. So many factors of inches and luck affected this game that could have gone either way. Most seemed to go against the Bearcats. Chapman getting drilled in the face is about how this city feels right now I would think. Season a success? AAC reg. season Champions? Guess I would have to say yes, but a HOLLOW yes.

I wonder if whoever prepares the roster books before the game is getting canned.

I've never seen that before and like I said in the game thread, I knew it was a bad portend of things to come. Call me superstitious, but did you see the bounces and weird plays mostly all go against this team? Why we had to also beat karma today I will never know.

RE: The Aftermath
Some fans used to bust on Huggs as "One and done"

Those same fans can now call Cronin "Mick out quick"

I really hope our fan base is smart enough to realize this team had a very good season. No name calling or hoping that someone gets fired. When the Reds fired Dusty this past season after a wildcard playoff loss, common sense and rational thinking lost out to emotion.

I'm ready for some new blood, hopefully some of these young bigs pan out. We need a back to the basket presence at least some of the time.

RE: The Aftermath
When did our game turn into East Germany? Dark, depressing, gray, uninspiring and lifeless. Seriously though, too many individuals and not enough team when it counted I guess. We would cut it to 1 or 2 in the first half AND the 2nd with momentum, and then proceed to take consecutive $#!+$ in the middle of the road with our possessions.

I didn't expect 27 wins this year, and figured an NCAA bid would be shaky. Season = success.

RE: The Aftermath
IMO it was inept play by ALL our players and failure by the Coaching Staff to make the right adjustments. I felt they did the same thing over and over again, expecting different results.
We had 1 shooter the whole year. Enough to beat many teams, play the top of the league closely but NCAA teams are better, and they all have film.

RE: The Aftermath
The person who does the roster book should be fired.

Crusty Faker should have been canned years before.

The technical is still a bad sign in my mind. My peeps are still talking about how that happens? Only ended in one point, but it did interrupt a small bit of momentum and just seemed to solidify what we were seeing: things weren't going our way.

Agree, 27 wins and a conference co-championship is a successful season. I would loved to have made a run in the tournament but it didn't happen. Always sad for the players to see their careers end with a heartbreaking loss. As fans we have next season and regular lives to get back too. The student athletes will be fighting for a pro career and experiencing what it like to be truly on their own. You go from college hero one day to just another guy trying to find a job. I always respect the players that put on the uniform and represent their school and city.

RE: The Aftermath
Aftermath? Hell half of the free world picked UC to lose today.

It was a very good year by a team that probably was not anywhere near as talented as some of us thought/hoped.

RE: The Aftermath
I don't disagree but you would also have to say that they could have won this match and on many levels done a better job. When they started all that crap with the mean face tee shirt and the rest of the extraneous showboating that the Cats kind of lost their way, maybe they started believing the press.Still, fun watching Killa and JJ all these years.
Thank you seniors.

my disgust and disappointment was JJ and Rubles missing lots of layups and inside 5 feet bunnies. Guys have to make most of them if you're going to win in a tournament. Can't wait until next season when Gary Clark and the other big men come in and show HOW players with BB TALENT can score. Mick needs to reassess his coaching staff again and dump the one that teaches an offense for another one.

whoever handed over the roster card with Sanders left off should be reprimanded, whoever it was.
that stuff is uncalled for in Division I sports.

Jackson took a step back today; however, without his progress this team is probably playing in the NIT this week. Some of that was offensive coaching, I think.

Real aftermath are the poor homer schleps who had UC actually beating MSU in the next game starring at the bracket. Lol.

Bill Koch said on twitter that local officials left him off and UC didn't catch it. Not sure who at UC is responsible for that.

RE: The Aftermath
Overall a very good year. Team overachieved most of the year. That said. We really went off track the last few games. Looked disinterested vs uconn in the conf tourney. And had no fire or sense of urgency this game which is really hard to explain given our three seniors. JJ brought it but just isn't gonna carry you as a scorer. Have no idea why SK stopped looking to regularly drive to the hoop these last two games. He either looked for the three or was too unselfish passing it off. What he did with 29 secs left today he needed to be doing throughout the game. Even when he drives doesn't get gouged and misses we often get stick backs from JJ and Titus. Anyway, had they beaten Harvard and lost to MSU it would be a lot easier to smile on the season. Burns to lose when you don't play the way you're capable of playing. No knock on Harvard, but UC playing its game should win against that team.
