Ball State should be pretty bad next year, it would be a downer to lose to that team even with the game being away.

Are you talking about Toledo losing Owens , Fluellen, and Reedy?
They are replaced by an Army HS All-American(#20 HS QB-Scout.com), 2nd Team Freshman All-American RB, and a 4 Star #43 HS WR-Scout.com. Doesn't seem like a big drop-off in talent.

Just because one guy produced doesn't mean the other two will. But seriously, it's not that hard to be better than Owens. Certainly the QB will be an upgrade

NIU was certainly in Owen's head and probably began with his first start as a Freshman, which was against the Huskies.

Boca, Let's see how all three perform before you tell us how they've replaced Owens, Fluellen and Ready, with a new QB and no Ready to throw to, defenses will be keying on Hunt. Not only that; while I have to give you AD major props for scheduling, the Rockets schedule is a ball buster. You open with an FCS playoff team(New Hampshire) host the defending SEC East Champion(Mizzou), then Cincy on the road(9-4 one of the American's best), MAC home opener with Ball State, followed by CMU(H), WMU®, followed by a road game at Iowa State. You will be their homecoming opponent and this is the Rockets 7th straight game w/o a bye week. A 4-3 record to that point would be quite an achievement, 3-4 entirely possible

That is a tough schedule. Let's see if it helps them when it comes to MAC play. At least there are home games there for the fans to be happy about.

Alonzo Russell only had 3 receptions less than Reedy last season, ranked #11 in receptions in the MAC and was 3rd Team All-MAC as a Soph. Much bigger target than Reedy @6'4" One NFL Draft site has him as the #29 WR in the Class of 2016. I would consider him a ready to throw to.

Venric Mark (aka their best player) was also injured the majority of last season as well. He was redshirted and will be back this year.
Mark is NU's all time leading Punt Returner and top 10 career rusher. With him NU was 10-4 with a bowl win over MSU in 12.

If the Huskies don't have a better w-l record than the Rockets on 11/11 it will be a major dissapointment for NIU. Toledo follows the NIU road game with a home date vs BGSU, ouch.
