RE: 2014 Football Record Predictions
Feeling a bad vibe , not just because as someone reported on here that the team is not working as hard this offseason, several other factors including the defense and QB.
Non-Conf, I think the only game we take is Presbyterian, never ever should 3 non-conf away games be scheduled in a row, never ever ever. Big mistake, and our leadership takes a partial blame for the 1-3 non-conf record. In conference I think we drop the Ohio, WMU, and Toledo games to finish 6-6

8-4,7-5. Ark & NU losses. D big question mark combined with losing your all time Home Run hitter with no heir apparent.

RE: 2014 Football Record Predictions
I am feeling we start out rough, end non conference at 1-3, then play catch up the rest of the season closing out at 8-4. Our only MAC regular season loss will be to Ball State or Ohio. Still, other than last year, we seem to start the year off with a losing record or at best 2-2, and then do well in the MAC.

It would be one thing if the Huskies were playing Ohio State, Fresno State and Alabama for OOC games, but they are playing two teams coming off losing records (Ark and NU) and a middle of the pack MW team. The Huskies are better than them and home field advantage.

If the Huskies lose to WMU, they are going to be worse than 6-6.
This team is going to score a lot. Will they give up a lot, probably, but they are going to score enough to be better than .500. Offense is king in the MAC and NIU's is still going to be one of the top offenses.

I remember alot of angst when Harnish graduated. Lynch was kinda an unknown commodity. He seemed to do well. I think Carey is happy with the QBs we have otherwise, he might have pursued a JC QB.

RE: 2014 Football Record Predictions
My pre spring practice prediction for 2014...
8-4 to 9-3
Our toughest regular season conference game will be at home vs CMU. They have a smart OOC schedule of FCS, @Purdue, Syracuse & @Kansas and their 2 conference games before ours are vs Toledo and at Ohio. I will predict that they will be 5-1 coming into our game with a ton of confidence.
The winner of that game will go to the MACC.
The MAC East champ will be Akron.

I'm fairly confident that we have three guys who would start for most MAC teams. Add in the competition they've had for the past year + this spring/fall and I'm really not concerned about the QB position...actually looking forward to watching it unfold and seeing a new style of QB for the next few years.

I understand losses against Arkansas, NU, and Ohio but Ball St? They pretty much lose everything that made them great from last year.

I will feel a little less confident if McIntosh can't separate from the rest having been in the system the longest.

RE: 2014 Football Record Predictions
11-1, NIU will lose one of the AQ games, I haven't decided which one but UNLV has lost quite a bit from last year and last year was Hauck's best year since he took the job, he hasn't done very well there. Don't see the Huskies losing in conference with the talent losses that Toledo & BSU have suffered. Kent with 4 wins last year losses Dri Archer, Miami winless last year, EMU won only 3-4 last year, WMU might be better but have a long way to go to be respectable and Enos has not progressed the Chips much, don't see a loss their either. If McIntosh or Hare peforms better than average, 12-0 is not out of the question.

NU will have a new QB too. Why is this in the loss column. They were not real good last year and lost their two headed QB

Venric Mark (aka their best player) was also injured the majority of last season as well. He was redshirted and will be back this year.

CMU has plenty of talent. No one talks about them, they have some size and strength on both sides of the ball.

We have had trouble in Muncie for a lot of years. Yes we have won lately but we don't play very well there. We will lose one game to a team we really should beat.
