We are gonna pass on Obamacare (a/k/a Medicaid+). It probably won't cover what we need, I don't think we would qualify for subsidies, and even if we did, it just seems like the wrong thing to do.

Once a liar, always a liar. Just because you admire some of the biggest liars in the world, Pelosi, Reid, Barry Zero, SJL, don't expect any admiration here for your lies.

Is the actual premium cheaper for the same or better coverage? Or are you:

a) enjoying the Obamacare subsidy so someone else is really paying that $300 for you?

b) getting lesser coverage but are fine with it?

c) have a smaller provider net work but are fine with it?

d) all of the above?

Herd if you are in Charlotte NC the exchange plans for BCBS are varied with extensive coverage and a very large provider network. The prices even without a subsidy are good. You can just purchase the same policies from a private insurance agent if you don't get a subsidy. Your rates in Charlotte are better than mine in rural NC because you have more competition.

Actually because I was an independent consultant for about a year I had BCBS and an individual policy holder. Prices after Obamacare are about 5% higher than I paid before. So really that is no difference. I have insurance through my employer now, but I thought only two companies were offering individual policies BCBS statewide and a smaller company for select markets in NC.

A 5% increase from one year to the next is about par for the course. Over the last couple of decades a 10% increase and/or deductible and co-insurance increases have been fairly normal. With my employer provided BCBS policy I was actually able to upgrade and after all the subtractions and additions come out a little ahead this year. You are correct about the companies offering in the exchange. Coventry is available in 39 counties and BCBS in all 100 counties. But each offers a whole bunch of policies ranging from the bare minimum under the ACA guidelines to some with all the whistles and bells. BCBS has dominated the NC market for years and years. It is really hard for others to get their foot in the door. But on the other hand the network is so extensive because it would be foolish for doctors and facilities not to join since so many people are BCBS customers.

The Regime has spent hundreds of millions of dollars to beg people to sign up for this disaster and you still had to post this. How sad is that.

With his rose colored posts on Obamacare I'm guessing he's on their payroll in some form or another.

I don't qualify for a subsidy.

My existing insurance was through the Texas High Risk Pool. It was 730 bucks a MONTH for me alone.

The Gold BCBS PPO plan is 300 bucks a month cheaper, has a lower deductible and yearly maximum and has better prescription coverage.

I have type 1 Diabetes. Anyone born with a pre-existing condition is MUCH better off under Obamacare.

Great example of how the ACA produces positive results for average Americans, including many that have higher incomes.

Actually if you have health insurance you are benefiting from the ACA (Obamacare) in several ways. It isn't just subsidies and an exchange.

For the 3 trillion bucks this disaster is going to cost us, we could buy all of the people with preexisting conditions their own hospitals.

will not participate in this unconstitutional fraud of a program in any form whatsoever. I don't care how many "subsidies" they try to bribe me with, it isn't gonna work. Some of us cannot be bought off.

Ironic. The social compact is precisely what was destroyed by this massive government power grab. Precisely what was destroyed.

That is the opposite of the social compact. All of us have an obligation to help society as a whole.
