Got the long form of the Nat'l Anthem. Can't deny that the kid had pipes, though.

No score in the bottom of the 2nd (we're the home team). Blake Fox vs. Preston Morrison for TCU.

What, man on 1st and no out, and no bunt? Let's just GIDP instead... Did they learn nothing yesterday from watching UT execute?

RE: Rice vs TCU
Blake off to a strong start-- 1-2-3 second inning. Three strikeouts and just one baserunner (single) through the first two innings. We're now 0-3 vs. Top 35 teams, and were shutout in all three games. Enough already! Time for the offense to provide some support for our pitchers.

Teykl leadoff walk. Now let's execute!
Stainback grounded into double play. Did he even attempt to bunt? Our situational hitting is beyond pathetic.
Hoelscher struck out swinging.
Another non-strikeout pitcher getting strikeouts against us; this after having VERY, very few strikeouts the first two weeks of the season. What has changed this past week to cause such a change in our offense?

Scoreless heading to the top of the third inning.

Hate to say it, but we are consistently one of the worst bunting teams amongst the Top 100 teams in the country. You'd think we'd address this issue for once and for all.

RE: Rice vs TCU
Blake gets two quick strikeoutsKKKKK to start off the third inning, but then a walk and back to back singles required Aquino throwing out the runner at the plate to escape unscathed.

Aquino flies out to RF.
Byrd ground out to SS. Leon can't seem to get the ball off the ground.
Warren grounded out to 2B.
24 consecutive scoreless innings now for our offense, and you can count on one hand the number of hard hit balls during this stretch.

Scoreless heading to the top of the fourth inning.

Great throw by Aquino last inning. Our ground ball fest continues at the plate.

Don't sell the Owls short. We scored on SHS!

John Clay Reeves knocks one into the corner and hustles out a double. Broke his belt sliding into 2b and needed a replacement. Good thing there were extras readily available.

Good play by SS as Skyler torches the ball but gets thrown out. Runner to third but Tekyl K's.

RE: Rice vs TCU
Super quick and efficient 1-2-3 inning for Blake (2 groundouts, line out). Come on, offense-- show some signs of life...

Cook struck out swinging.
Reeves doubles down the LF line. Finally, a ball squared up and hit hard. Can we capitalize here?
Ewing grounded out to SS, but Reeves advances to 3B.
Teykl struck out. Ugh.
And Morrison has already doubled his strikeout production for the season (in just 4 innings vs. his previous 14.1 IP beore tonight).

Scoreless heading to the top of the fifth inning.

Good fielding that inning by the Owls. 1-6 on the bunt after the walk, then a nice 4-6-3.

Blake gives up a leadoff single up the middle, but throws out the runner at 2B on the bunt attempt, then induces a 4-6-3 double play.

Stainback yet another ground out. All too familiar.
Hoelscher single up the middle.
Aquino 6-4-3 double play. Can't we even try a hit and run against a pitcher who consistently throws strikes? Try anything at this point.
total lack of offense putting incredible pressure on our pitching staff.

Scoreless heading to the top of the sixth inning.

Paging Lance Berkman.... Gotta give Blake and the defense all the credit so far.
