Byrd single to lead off the sixth followed by a bunt FC. But Cook doubles to make it runners on 2nd and 3rd with one out. Surely we can score here with our #3-4 batters?

ETA - yay, the streak is over. SF by Reeves make it 1-0 Rice.

RE: Rice vs TCU
Blake gives up a 2-out single, but no further damage (2 strikeoutsKKKKKKK, line out). I believe that's a career high in strikeouts for Blake. Paging offense...

Byrd leadoff single! Life! Now let's move him around.
Warren lousy bunt forces Byrd at 2B. Have we successfully laid down a bunt this week?
Cook doubles! Runners at 2B and 3B, one out. That inability to bunt just cost us a run.
Reeves sac fly RBI! 02-13-banana We score! We score! We score!
Ewing flied out to CF.
Either Morrison is tiring or we finally discovered a way to get the ball off the ground against him. Both Cook and Byrd hit line shots, and Reeves and Ewing hit OF flies-- the first flies in quite some time.

The good guys take a 1-0 lead into the seventh inning.

Blake gives up leadoff walk, and is promptly replaced by Lemond. Great, great outing by Blake-- arguably his best as an Owl. 04-bow

RE: Rice vs TCU
Zech induces two ground balls-- one for the force out, and the other for an inning-ending double play. Would I be greedy asking/pleading for insurance runs???

Teykl ground out to 2B.
Stainback single. One out.
Hoelscher first pitch hits into an inning-ending DP. This is beyond ridiculous already. This is easier than throwing the ball to the infield for double plays. Please make it stop!

Good guys take a 1-0 lead into the top of th eighth inning.

Single to left to open T8. Hoelscher did not get his body in front to block it - waved at it with the glove.

Now 4 pitch walk.

Now 4 pitch walk.

Went lateral towards 2B instead at an angle towards 1b and the ball went by him. 4 pitch walk to a 208 hitter trying to bunt

Nice job by Lemond to get out of the mess. Insurance runs please (or even an insurance run singular).

RE: Rice vs TCU
Zech gets himself into trouble and then works his way out (single, walk, sac bunt, FO at home, pop to C). No strikeouts, but some great pitching under pressure. For those at MMP, did Zech risk the curve with the runners at 3B, or was he simply throwing heat?

Aquino struck out swinging.
Byrd ground out to 1B. Must we go down this easy? Can't we at least let Zech catch his breath?
Warren ground out to pitcher.

Good guys take a 1-0 lead into the top of the ninth inning.

Second hard hit ball by Byrd tonight but right at 1B.

Stone goes 3-4 and scores winning run in their win.
