But if somebody with a voice like James Earl Jones yelled at the refs even the crowd would silence to stop and listen to what he had to say.
After hearing the entire season how I'm not at the games and don't know; I can clearly call b******t on anyone who says this. Pastner was in their ear constantly; mostly from on the court, and he had refs on his side of the court the whole time.
He was yelling at them, laughing, trying to reason with them, etc...obviously nothing worked.
It's just an opinion, nothing to get worked up about. I've heard him yell plenty and to me at least, he does not have an intimidating voice that commands much attention, particularly when he is trying to yell over a screaming crowd.

I apologize; this wasn't directed at you at all. It was more for the guys that insist that he doesn't work the officials.

Uhhhhhh...cough...cough...fact.
Go back and check the thread Stammers in regard to what I said about Fact.
Cough, there wasn't a 29 free throw margin in that game either.
There wasn't a free throw margin of 29 only because there were only 8 minutes left in the game when Cal got the tech. The refs didn't do us any favours when Cal was here; especially in big games, so I don't see any basis in fact with what you said.
I'm not going to re-read the thread for you.
Glad we agree that your post was ridiculous. Thanks.

Here's a thought. Maybe the fouls were real. Maybe our guards are getting beat and fouling in recovery. There is no maybe, it's been a common topic of discussion this year.

Our guards did get beat some.
And committed some fouls.
As did their guards. Except the result was 24 free throws in regulation for UConn, 6- or 9 less than the previous low for Memphis in regulation. 36-9 for the game- in a game Memphis shot 15 threes to UConn's 21...in other words, Memphis was creating contact too.
Even the turnovers- what- 18 for Memphis, 6 for them...would have been a more reasonable 15 for Memphis and 9 fr them with any kind of less home cooking hideous Napier slurping refereeing.

If Cal was coaching that game today, we'd just be coming off a 4-year-long NCAA "death penalty" due to complete lack of program control!

Yes, maybe we commit more fouls than every team UConn has played, and maybe we cause less fouls than every team UConn has played. That makes perfect sense.

I think that a % of the discrepancy of fouls called were also attributed to the fouls being sold by the UCONN guards...that's an underestimated factor I think. As they are being coached by an former NBA guard. And that phenomenon is a huge part of the NBA now.

That is a very kind offer, and likewise if you ever find yourself in Montreal or Toronto. I have never had a bad experience breaking bread or having drinks with a fellow Tiger fan.
