RE: Does UC have it's new AD?
The guy was throwing t-shirts into the stands last night and and he clearly has a very good arm.
Contrary to popular belief, throwing ability actually trumps "cleanliness" on the holy virtues scale.
Therefore I am cautiously optimistic in this hire.

So if Bohn Burnt Bridges rules out the B12 the ACC is all that is left and I fear that door is sealed unless MD gets out of the $50 million and that sets off a prison break by others.

Agreed. I, like many, were concerned that CTT was going to mail it in as an on-the-job retirement program. But he really has shown me that he is serious about building a program here both during the season and this recruiting cycle.
With this horrendous weather, he could have not bothered with his trip to see Atkinson in icy Atlanta. And then to take a chance the day before signing day to fly to Georgia to speak at a high school coaches meeting which turned into another terrible drive back to Cincy in an ice storm. He couldn't even make it back and had to stop in frozen Lexington. I know it was frozen because I was stuck in Lexington that same night.
As much as I hate being in the AAC, I believe UC is in great hands with both Mick and Tommy. If Bohn and Ono can broker a deal into a P5, the rest of the collegiate sports world better watch out what UC can do with an extra $20M each year.
Ono tweeted earlier today "remember. with every setback there is a comeback. cincinnati grit."
There must be something in the works. Since bohn was hired as ad and he removed a school from the b12 would you think that the b12 would want to do business again with him??? Leads me to believe we are going after the acc or another conference.
Why do you say no to the sec? some michigan st fans think they are going to the sec in 2015 and some current members are getting the boot. would get them into the ohio market for tv with cincinnati and their network. not to mention it would harm the big ten.

If we let up on vocalizing our feelings to them, why should they think anyone cares. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, I'm not trying take that away from anyone, but it has worn quite thin, hence my initial sarcasm. People saw Bohn as a guy who made two (in my opinion just one) bad coaching hires, and therefore he is gonna tank our athletics department. Instantly wanted this guy gone before he got here. Did people think we were gonna bring in Alabamas AD? aO$Us AD? Did they think that the guy was gonna bring a new conference with him? We were looking for a guy who can raise funds and fix up facilities. Given his record at CU, he can do that. What is the problem that we gotta dread his arrival.
You think being positive or negative on a message board about the AD hiring can be helpful or hurtful?
I doubt many people here know anything about the potential AD candidates. I don't. But when they hired the guy, fans understandably wanted to find out what he's all about. And the stuff in the public domain was, what? He got fired from CU because of a lack of fundraising and/or because the football team was bad. Even those articles posted in this thread, all they really say are that he's a really good guy who worked really hard, not (by and large) that he did a wonderful job as an AD. Are people supposed to ignore that? You say UC needed a guy who can fundraise and upgrade facilities and that he has a track record there. I don't see anything other than in his own press release bio that shows he has done those things particularly well. Maybe he'll be great, but there's nothing really to point to like there was with Babcock, who raised a ton of money at Missouri and was some up and coming star.

I hate to stop the party, but could that just be a reference to the basketball game last night?

No. The basketball team hasn't had a setback in forever.
I thought Ono was referring to the loss of Whit and the addition of Bohn.

Really, with Tubs and Mick firmly in place as far as coaches go, and with Ono actively involved in trying to get the university OUT of the AAC, the only responsibility that Bohn will have is getting the money together to keep the facilities improvements coming.
Finishing up Nippert and finding a solution for the basketball team should be jobs 1A & 1B for him right now.

I think Ono uses that as a general tag line now, not in reference to the conference.
