I would suspect that The SEC would ditch its Gentlemen's agreement not to add additional members from states with existing members. I doubt A&M would have enough clout to keep UT out. If UT leaves, again a BIG if, I would look for Oklahoma to go with them. The thought that relationships with sister universities, would in their respective states, keep UT and OU from joining a financial behemoth like The SEC is perplexing. Additionally The LHN is peanuts compared to what. The SEC Network will make.

After that Kansas and Kansas State to The Big Ten and WVU to The ACC, along with UConn, coupled with Oklahoma State, Baylor, Texas Tech and Iowa State to The PAC seem like plausible results.

One thing is for certain, due to the GOR, The Big 12 is going nowhere without a super majority of its members obtaining a golden parachute into another conference.

How likely is any of this to happen, very unlikely. However if some one would have told me a decade ago that WVU would be in The Big 12 and Louisville would be in The ACC I would have told them that was crazy as the scenario I just laid out.
CJ

B10 would never take 2 schools in Kansas and KSU would not meet the B10 academic requirements. KSU instead of Baylor makes more sense for the PAC in your scenario. UConn probably would end up in the B1G with KU.

I like the sound of that. Let's make it happen jhawk! 04-cheers

Not sure where Kansas and West Virginia end up but the Texoma 4 will bolt before those additions could sign on the dotted line.

For WVU it's SEC or bust, with the ACC as a fall back position - if we fall way back...

Texas' (football) hubris wouldn't be any part of that alignment proposed by Wilkie.
Kansas' (basketball) hubris wouldn't be any part of that alignment, either.

Sounds good, however, for a fantasy league on NCAA Football 2014.

SEC, if they expand will want Oklahoma and Texas.

However, I could see the SEC , adding West Virginia ant East Carolina.

But, who knows what will happen, if Kansas goes to the Big 10 and or the G4 conference sets occurs 04-cheers

And Clemson and FSU could get sick of the Tobacco Road consortium and decide their fortunes are better served elsewhere too. Who really cares?

^No way you "can" see the SEC targeting East Carolina. It's more like you "want" to see it.

The SEC would fall over itself to get North Carolina -- the flagship -- it the school expressed a desire to join.

The SEC had a legit opportunity to get West Virginia before it passed, taking Missouri instead. That tells me a lot.

I thought there was a small window where the B12 could have played its hand and poached the ACC big-time -

Grab Louisville, WVU, FSU, Clemson and Ga Tech along with the TCU addition, and you have 14, with divisions
EAST - WVU, FSU, Clemson, Ga Tech, Louisville, TCU, Baylor
WEST - Texas, TTU, OU, OSU, KU, KSU, ISU

The ACC is screwed- they only go as far south as North Carolina - and at this point I think the B1G comes after UNC and whoever else they want.

I'll agree there. Corporate recruiters say no one is ambivalent about Houston; they either love it or would never consider living here. I am in the love it camp.

This little blurb in the Houston Chronicle today supports my argument. The City of Houston is a candidate to host the Women's Final Four. Who's the host school? Texas A&M and the SEC.

Solid additions. TV ratings/revenue will be through the roof. I wonder why someone hasn't already made this happen.01-ncaabbs
You do realize you just destroyed my new sarcasm meter with that post. Don't you? It shattered with the sarcasm levels radiating from your post.

When I saw the title of this thread, I just assumed it was all tongue in cheek. I was amazed that some took it seriously. I take a back seat to nobody when it comes to imagining fanciful expansion scenarios. But this one's over the top.
