With the SEC the Winners are:
Ole Miss, Mississippi State, L.S.U., South Carolina, Texas A&M, Missouri, and Vanderbilt
the Losers are: Alabama & Georgia
Still to play: Auburn
The best possible finish is 8 wins 2 losses.
The worst possible finish is 7 wins and 3 losses.

With the Big 10 the Winners are: Nebraska and Michigan State
The Losers are: Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Ohio State
Both of their incoming teams lost: Rutgers and Maryland
The Big 10 finishes the Bowl Season with a record of 2 wins and 5 losses.

With the ACC the Winners are: North Carolina, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, and Clemson
The Losers are: Georgia Tech, Boston College, Duke, Maryland, Virginia Tech, Miami
Their incoming team was a winner: Louisville (but they defeated ACC team Miami)
Their affiliate was a winner: Notre Dame
Still to play: Florida State
The best possible finish is 5 wins and 6 losses.
The worst possible finish is 4 wins and 7 losses.

With the Big 12 the Winners are: Kansas State, Texas Tech, Oklahoma
The losers are: Texas, Baylor, and Oklahoma State
The Big 12 finishes the Bowl Season with a record of 3 wins and 3 losses.

With the PAC 12 the Winners are: Arizona, Oregon, U.C.L.A., U.S.C., Oregon State, and Washington
The losers are: Arizona State, Stanford
They finish the bowl season with a record of 6 wins and 2 losses.

So in retrospect if the SEC loses its remaining game the PAC 12 will finish this season with the best bowl winning percentage.
Even if the ACC wins its last bowl it will finish again with a losing bowl record. But they would claim the National Championship.
The worst the SEC could finish is 7 - 3.
Now the above scenario is the best that those who are hoping for an SEC demise could hope for. This is what is still on the table for the SEC:
An Auburn win has given the SEC the guaranteed best winning percentage in the Bowl Season.
A Vanderbilt gave the SEC a guaranteed 7 bowl wins out of 10 matches in which half of those were against top 25 teams and only 2 against non P5 teams (Rice & Houston).
An Auburn victory gives the SEC its 8th straight national title and would mean that the SEC would finish ahead of the PAC 12 for the best bowl winning percentage in 2013.
The SEC is now assured to finish no worse than second in the bowl winning percentages. But could still finish first.

Now seriously I don't care about this stuff as much as I care about Auburn. But since those who envy and hate the SEC are rooting against its demise in this bowl season I thought it was time to take a sobering look at what is transpiring.
So far on this board the most vocal anti SEC posters are either G5 who rip all P5 teams anyway, a few Big 10 posters who are guaranteed to finish with a losing bowl record, and a few ACC posters who are guaranteed to finish with a losing bowl record. (Due apologies to the righteous Big 10 and ACC posters who are still in the majority.)
I've noted no such gloating by the Big 12 posters or PAC posters. I wonder why? Usually those accustomed to winning don't suffer from envy. Kudos to Wedge and the other PAC posters and Kudos to Oklalittledixie and Bullet and the other Big 12 posters.
What all of this proves to me is that it is past time to give the damn polls any credence at all. The coaches and writers put the same danged name brand teams from each of our conferences at the top every year. This year it hurt Michigan State. All of the marbles were placed on Ohio State, with all of the press hype and Urgasms for Meyer overshadowing a deserving Spartans team. All of the Alabama hype overshadowed Auburn and Missouri. At least Auburn and Missouri can still make their cases.
We don't need polls. And among those touted by ESPN for the Heisman at the beginning of the season, Winston and Tre Mason weren't even in the names presented. It was going to be Bridgewater, McCarron, Clowney, and Mariotta. How long are we going to let talking heads on TV tell us what to think about sports, world events and the damned politicians? I think we need to demand that this country let everything be decided on the field, period. I think we need to demand facts with no spin so we can make up our own minds about things. And I think attack adds for politicians need to be replaced with simple statements about what they think needs to be done, backed up by a party political platform of what they would like to accomplish, and then we need to get back to holding those putzes to it.
At least the Rose Bowl gave us half of what a 4 team playoff should be. It would be better if we had only 4 conferences. But based on what has already transpired this bowl season the 4 team playoff should have been:
Florida State vs Stanford and Auburn vs Michigan State in the first round.
It is what it is, and what it is still has a few games to go. Whether you are pro or anti SEC, or just anti P5 I wouldn't be out there crowing just yet. Anything could still happen. I doubt it will be a total fail, or success, by any of the conferences which still have teams to play.
Well the evening has concluded and I must revise this post. This revision is for you He1nous.
Well Vanderbilt won and I have revised the post yet again. Another revision for you He1nous.
