Because he is a horrible in game coach who could not win the big east despite his successes in recruiting.
As for a UMass Uconn Thanksgiving match..that's fine. Can't imagine it would be very competitive the first decade though. It would be nice to see some new England rivalry develop considering Boston college will never play Uconn in football.
UMass has a ways go but I could see them being a competitive Mac team in a decade or so. It will be fun to see how the fanbase changes with the move back to Amherst.

None of the decent conferences allow props. You can do that crap in the MAC, WAC, CUSA and maybe the Sun Belt (I don't know for sure about the Sun Belt), but none of the decent conferences allow that kind of stuff; it is frowned upon. I assume that that is what the JUCO's and prep schools are for.
