Being in the game etc is fine but the location pretty much sucks once you've been there a few times.

The fact that Oklahoma isn't very good this year helps add to the low interest.

The entertainment value of the game is very, very, low.

All that said, I think they could easily beat us and most folks wouldn't even care if they did; I know I wouldn't.

T-shirt fans could care less, true Bama grads are thrilled to be invited.

10th aggy t-shirt fan can't relate but he would sell his 1st born for a shot a this game.04-cheers

We actual Alabama grads don't get that fired up about football to this sort of extent anyways.

You aren't supposed to say anything when that happens Terry. Just wink and nod. I don't want my new Michigan buddies around here to start Hating me like all the ACC cheerleaders do.
Oddly enough, I agree with the both of you. The fundamental laws of physics no longer apply.

You seem to be forgetting that we already did the whole "beat the ever living crap out of Big 12 champ Oklahoma" thing last year.

Somebody else deserves a shot at Big Game Bob this year.

Time for me to start catching up on those Doomsday Prepper TV shows. I guess those nutters were right after all!

Alabama fans not excited about playing Oklahoma in Sugar Bowl
Most 'Bama fans I've spoken with would've loved a chance to play (shut up) Oregon. The two biggest names from the year's two best conferences would've been a great bowl matchup and a lot of fun to watch. The Sugar Bowl could've had a fascinating game, and both Oregon and Bama fans would've been there en masse. But they made their pick, and Oklahoma fans are interested. Bama fans have somewhat lost interest.

The Sugar Bowl match against #11 Oklahoma is a huge letdown evidently and obviously.

From Dallas Morning News:
"In the entire states of Oklahoma and Alabama, hotel searches (hotel.com) for New Orleans were up 379% in Oklahoma and 127% for Alabama."

Football is like a god in Alabama. They will pack the house at their bowl and cheer the Crimson Tide on. Oklahoma will do like wise. This will be a great bowl game played in a sold out sea of red. 04-jawdrop 04-jawdrop 07-coffee3

It must be great having the problem. I would love to be disappointed about "only" making a BCS bowl.

I know. For two of the three programs I root for, simply making a bowl is a successful season.

That is why Alabama would be a ****** place to coach at should Saban ever retire or move on. The expectations there are just ridiculous.

Oklahomans have had those same expectations when they were winning frequent titles. The same arrogant expectations are well known in the Sooner State. I think people all over Alabama's dong have forgotten exactly who Oklahoma is and that powerhouses aren't always on top. Alabamans better get used to it. The fall always comes.

My pocket book bet is on Alabama but my heart is with the Sooners. Big Game Bob is an astute coach but my guess is Alabama is looking to atone for the Auburn loss and finishing the season ranked #2. No doubt Alabama will be highly motivated for this game.

This will not be a great game. If Alabama comes in to this game with their heads on straight, they will completely demolish Oklahoma. To be completely honest, these are probably the worst set of BCS Bowl games in the BCS era out of the year Pitt played Utah in BCS bowl game.

Baylor is going to go all "Thor" like on UCF. Just a horrible set of BCS Bowl games.

it sounds like Alanbamians already have their excuse in their back pocket in case they drop this one.

It would be cool if we played every year. I think it's pretty boneheaded that someone hasn't made it a reality that our two teams play often.

A bowl will take, for example, +20% viewership for -20% attendance.

Not that in this case it will matter as the Sugar will likely sell out, if not come close, and have great ratings.

Oh yeah absolutely. Alabama brings the casual viewers no doubt. Blue Bloods and all that
The purpose of the bowls is to create tourism. They really want fans there. But I haven't seen any bowl yet full except for the Rose. Decided lack of interest. UGA and Nebraska played with tons of empty seats-paper speculates half empty. Those are two of the best followed teams. Alamo Bowl looked pretty full, but that is only 80 miles from Austin.

Just sounds like a bunch of Alabama fans getting their excuses ready in case they lose this one.

Pretending Oklahoma is no big deal, or that no one really cares is for the college football novice - usually the fair weather fan under the age of 20.

You are playing exactly who you should be playing, Bammers.

How is this a terrible Oklahoma team? They have one more loss than Alabama.

I would be thinking more redemption for the last two times you played us.

We are Oklahoma. Not a virtual mid major like Utah.

I don't think it's that great of a matchup.

A deflated Alabama team versus an average looking Big12 team.
