MTSU playing dirty...

Navy has to install face shield on Navy QB's helmet because players are intentionally gouging his eyes...

RE: MT vs. Navy
It's clear to see that the MTSU players are a reflection of their douchebag coach. One player throws an elbow at a Navy player's head then pokes the Navy QB in the eye when he was already down. Then another taunts the Navy sideline after Navy gets a first down.

That triple option is really something! Tough game, and I agree that the helmet to helmet call wasn't right! MTSU is making a number of uncalled penalties, but winning the turnover battle!

RE: MT vs. Navy
The "targeting" call against the Navy player in the 1st half was bull****!!! Kind of torn on this one, because I'm a Conference USA fan in bowl games, but, I was also in the Navy from 1983-89.

I'm not at home to see the 2nd half, and things were getting a little testy late in the 1st, but if what all here have observed as dirty play by MT is true, ESPN & other sports outlets are going to have a field day with that.

MT embarrassing their alumni, the program, and the conference with this continued thuggery. Go Navy!

Deliberate thug behavior
Needed to go long before they finally threw that last flag
Dirty play rarely pays off

Agreed. How the hell do you show your a$$ like that vs a military academy?

Seems everybody on the ESPN thread agrees as well.

RE: MT vs. Navy
I'm pulling for Middle Tennessee because they represent C-USA, but Blunt's a flat-out PUNK, and I'm really disappointed at the fact that the MTU coaches are patting this guy on the back of the helmet as he's leaving the field instead of getting in his face and setting him straight.

I know it's an emotional game because it's a bowl game, but this is the first time I've seen Middle Tennessee play, and it seems like the coaching staff is enabling the players, and no one is being addressed for some of the dirty, low-handed tactics they're displaying on the field. If they were addressed in the locker room at halftime, it obviously didn't hit home because nothing has changed in the 2nd half.

The fact that they are playing Navy is irrelevant. The Midshipmen are just any other football team while they are on the field. MT shouldn't play classless or thug-like against anyone.

Unfortunately, the ESPN announcers are not being kind to the Blue Raiders because of some of the on-field junk. Ouch! Interception. That may be the ball game. Navy takes a lot of time off the clock with their running game.

At least playing Navy as the LAST game of the season give your defense a few months for rehabilitation from all the chopblocks.

Agreed. Just "seems" even worse for some reason considering what the Navy players are doing for the country.
