Well looks like I was wrong...wouldn't be the first time.

I agree you don't act like a thug against any team, but the last team you do it to is one of the service academies. I'm embarrassed right now.

Agreed. How the hell do you show your a$$ like that vs a military academy?

Seems everybody on the ESPN thread agrees as well.

Navy ain't exactly the choirboys they're portrayed to be. 4 players have been dismissed in a sexual assault case. They've been known to do a chop block or two as well.

The fact that they are playing Navy is irrelevant. The Midshipmen are just any other football team while they are on the field. MT shouldn't play classless or thug-like against anyone.

Agreed. Just "seems" even worse for some reason considering what the Navy players are doing for the country.

It is a 1000% worse playing like criminals against Navy.

I'm willing to bet a MUCH higher % of their players are legitimate student athletes & "good citizens" than the average football program. Is that fair? Anybody that puts themselves through that academic, training and athletic hell and then goes on to fight for his country... 99 times out of 100 is going to be a quality individual.

Might compare the MT thug behavior to what the service academies stand for: integrity!

And another TD for NAVY!

We (for the most part) don't get bent out of shape about it like other fan bases. MTSU, MTU, UMT, MT, doesn't matter to me. Many will be glad for anything other than MTSU.

Athletics has gone with "MT" for a few years now. "MTSU" is correct for the university.

Interception in the end zone... GO Navy!
Then another late hit and penalty.
Then.... another unsportsmanlike penalty....wow.

So besides playing like 01-rivals it sounds like the emotions are running out of control and MT players are losing control?

I don't disagree with anything you said. Compared to the rank and file of the NCAA they stand head and shoulders above, but compared to Army and Air Force academies they stand third. Also, it's been known for those players to be both great student athletes and commit penalties, particularly the ones they're coached to do by their staff. Paul Johnson's teams there and to some extent Niamotololo's as well were notorious for blocking issues, but they also have a subtle way to hold. If you watch them closely they will cut block, perfectly legitimate, and then while rolling on the ground will grab the defender's foot and let go quickly.
