I don't know why anyone would hire him away. The Huskies defense was atrocious and did nothing to warrant a promotion for Niemann.
Atrocious is a huge exaggeration. They give up 25.4 points a game, 55th out of 123 teams. That's better than half of the FBS teams. They do give up a fair amount of yards but you have to take into account some of that is in garbage time when they have a big lead. They had a bad MAC title, we get it, no need to exaggerate though.

No one is saying right away. But he would bring some good things to NIU.

"and he also intends to see all of his son's future college football games; Chad Beebe is wrapping up his freshman season at Northern Illinois".
Well, a position within the NIU program would certainly allow him to do that.
http://www.kcchronicle.com/2013/12/14/do...e/a5r0pzw/
He's not leaving yet. He said he is taking over as OC at Aurora Christian while handing the head coaching spot to his brother. Something tells me that he is trying to distance himself from the ACS program slowly rather than leave right away.
Actually, that isn't true. It doesn't say that he WILL stay on. It says his brother is HOPEFUL he will.
"At least for the short term, Dave Beebe is hopeful that Don will stay on as the Eagles' offensive coordinator in a transition"
In another article it said that Don would stay on as OC.
http://beaconnews.suntimes.com/sports/24...coach.html
Quote:Aurora Christian football coach Don Beebe has stepped down after guiding the program the past 10 years, but will stay on as its offensive coordinator.
Regardless of the conflicting info, I think he is going to stay at ACS. I don't think he wants to cut ties with them right away.
Maybe not but getting his foot in the door doing something part time may land him a bigger position at NIU when he steps down totally from Aurora Christian. The movie thing may last one year or so. When that is over and his brother completely takes over the reigns at AC after about a year or so, it would open up more time for him to spend with a bigger role at NIU. Honestly, I believe he realizes he has a good shot at becoming the next HC at NIU and is going to position himself to do that. Thus, in all likelihood boost his stock to take over some other program(maybe a Christian based school like Baylor or TCU).
why in the worlgd does he have a good shot at being the next head coach??? Why does every addition have to be the next head coach.

When you've had 4 coaches in like 7 years, I think it's natural to always be looking ahead to the next guy.

+1
We're a launching pad for coaches, as a former AD said.

The Huskies had some of the worst teams in all of FBS on their schedule. I didn't say anything about the MACC, the defense was frustrating to watch all season.

It was a team that had awful corners, mediocre linebackers, and hardly had any pass rush. Not sure you can blame coaching.

How many NIU OC's other than PJ can say they are unbeaten?

Frustrating? Yes.
Atrocious? No.

Cole is prob gone. Don Beebe doesn't have to be a position coach Niemann would have been gone if we won the MACC but after what BG did to us I dont think so.
