Doeren lost Matt Canada, Eddie Faulkner, and Tuke after his first season.

In all reality, a good addition Bebee will be ready to take over as Head Coach when Carey leaves. No chance for PJ on the rebound.

It'd be nice to keep the same offensive system that has been so successful for us for so long. I think our QBs will continue to be successful in our system with the number of weapons we have been reloading with for the foreseeable future. PJ would not be doing that but hopefully our next coach will continue with what has thrusted us over the top.

I would tend to agree. We are recruiting to a specific system. If someone comes and makes massive changes expect a regression period. See Southern Miss: 12 - 2 in 2011 and 0 - 12 last season. Fired their coach after one season. Our current QBs and our new QB recruit Root are here because of our specific system geared toward their strengths, if we make massive changes we will need to bring in different personnel.

Don Beebe leaving Aurora Christian.

"and he also intends to see all of his son's future college football games; Chad Beebe is wrapping up his freshman season at Northern Illinois".

Well, a position within the NIU program would certainly allow him to do that.

He's not leaving yet. He said he is taking over as OC at Aurora Christian while handing the head coaching spot to his brother. Something tells me that he is trying to distance himself from the ACS program slowly rather than leave right away.

I would think a significant factor in Niemann staying this season was his son, a senior at Sycamore HS. He was a Huskie recruit before accepting an offer from Iowa. With his son graduating, he may be open to other options, assuming there are other options for him.

I don't know why anyone would hire him away. The Huskies defense was atrocious and did nothing to warrant a promotion for Niemann.

Actually, that isn't true. It doesn't say that he WILL stay on. It says his brother is HOPEFUL he will.

"At least for the short term, Dave Beebe is hopeful that Don will stay on as the Eagles' offensive coordinator in a transition"

I saw on huskiewire that Niemann is the third highest paid assistant coach in the MAC.

Yeah I'm not sure how committed Don could be to NIU. Reading the story, he's got a lot going on with his "faith-based" websites, movie etc and of course his "House of Speed".

These seem to be a huge part of his life along with his family. Don't see how he would be a full-time coach at NIU. D1 ain't high school.

The original post didn't say he would be a full time coach. It just said "got a tidbit from a reliable source that Don Beebe will be on staff next season in some capacity". Some capacity might be a part time position working in the athletics office. Of course, that is assuming the rumor was even true. Just thought the timing is a little interesting.

If I am not mistaken, the original post said something along the lines "in some way". It didn't say he would be a full time coach.

Exactly. Several of the posts have speculated as to a full-time position.

Yeah, given all the pies he has his fingers in, a role along the lines of a conditioning consultant makes the most sense if he were to be involved with NIU.

In another article it said that Don would stay on as OC.

http://beaconnews.suntimes.com/sports/24...coach.html

Quote:Aurora Christian football coach Don Beebe has stepped down after guiding the program the past 10 years, but will stay on as its offensive coordinator.

Regardless of the conflicting info, I think he is going to stay at ACS. I don't think he wants to cut ties with them right away.

Maybe not but getting his foot in the door doing something part time may land him a bigger position at NIU when he steps down totally from Aurora Christian. The movie thing may last one year or so. When that is over and his brother completely takes over the reigns at AC after about a year or so, it would open up more time for him to spend with a bigger role at NIU. Honestly, I believe he realizes he has a good shot at becoming the next HC at NIU and is going to position himself to do that. Thus, in all likelihood boost his stock to take over some other program(maybe a Christian based school like Baylor or TCU).

Why would Beebe think he has a shot at becoming NIU'S next coach? NIU is a solid program and can do much better. If and when there is a opening there will be a lot of good qualified coaches.
