I don't think Cole will go anywhere. The most likely outcome is Beebe comes in as the WR or TE coach.

If Beebe were to be OC and Kane DC, it would make the "who is the coach in waiting" race quite interesting.

N.C. State's offense has sucked major ass this season. It wouldn't surprise me if DD came sniffing around for more of his guys.

You think he would give up on Canada that fast?

No, but Cole was the WR coach the first year under Doeren and the QB coach the 2nd year.

EDIT: After looking at DD's staff, most of the offensive coaches are his guys. The only one who isn't is Des Kitchings. Like I said, I don't think Cole is going anywhere.

That cannot be true. Jimmie Ward is from Alabama not Thad Ward.

Jimmie and Marlon Moore came before Thad Ward was a coach. Plus new coach Sigler is from Bama.

Ward has the FL connection.

I'm more interested in what Beebe's capacity would be. Pass game coordinator, WRs, Special Teams?

I'm going with Special Teams. This is speculation, but I think Nieman is gone, Kane takes over D and you see a new ST coordinator named Beebe.
Don't you usually have more duties than ST coordinator though? I agree that Kane will be the defensive coordinator next year, and I won't be surprised if Beebe is the ST coordinator, but generally you're a position coach/ST coordinator. Like Kane is the LB coach/ST coordinator.

Beebe has been a head coach, though. It really be nearly shocking if some people don't leave in the offseason. They'll find a place for him. Look at Coach U. He was a head coach, came to NIU and was the RB coach, now is at NC State as the offensive line coach. Having head coaching expierence means Beebe can probably coach about anywhere.

You are certainly correct, but I was having trouble finding a spot for him.

Yes, I know he's been a head coach, and at a successful program, but it is class 3A. I don't think he takes WRs just because I think Thad Ward is valuable there, he's done an excellent job and has the Florida recruiting trail.

I really think RBs is a possibility over Copeland, Copeland could move to QBs if this talk of Bob Cole leaving.

I think Beebe being OC is way too much to ask. I likely see him being pass game coordinator and being a co-position coach with Ward or being ST and the same thing. I'm really struggling to find a spot. I think he will certainly add value and I think he will be able to recruit, I mean he's coach at a private school.

If this hire happens, I also think my opinion of Maddie being the starter is true. He could be QB coach if that's the case.

Nope. It's been pointed out before, problem with NC State this year is they don't have a QB. Hard to have a good offense when your QB play is dismal at best.

I don't think there's a chance in hell the entire offensive or defensive staff stays. When you're as succesful as NIU is, you're staff is going to be raided. Look at how many coaches DD lost after his first year. Ward is probably one of the most likely guys to go. They'll be room for him for sure.

Just my 2 cents... of all the coaches I met at the X's and O's clinic I was most impressed with Ward and was really expecting great things out of the WRs this year. And, of course, the WRs have been excellent this year. I hope he stays.

Don Beebe was in the NFL for 8 years. He has been able to observe some of the top coaches in the game. He has been to 6 superbowls. He has the background to step into any offensive coaching position that comes up including offensive coordinator.

Carey: Probably back
Niemann: Probably gone
Cole: I think he'll be back, but I wouldn't be shocked if he left
Dieresen: Could very easily leave
Kane: I think it's very likely he could go if he's not promoted. I hope he stays though.
Sigler: Don't see him leaving
Tripodi: He'll be back
Polasek: Same as Tripodi
Ward: Good chance he leaves
Copeland: I think he'll be back

RE: Possible New Coaching addition Next Season
Question I would have is where would Niemann go? Iowa is the obvious destination, but are the Hawkeyes going to fire their D-Coordinator after this season? Maybe as a positional coach only?

Either way, if he leaves, for sure Kane will be D-Coordinator. The only reason he didn't follow DD to NC State was undoubtedly because there's a chance he'll be the next head coach if Carey leaves after next year.

where do you get he will be the next head coach. We will do what has made us a success, hire the best guy at that time, maybe Kane maybe not, but lets not worry about it.

RE: Possible New Coaching addition Next Season
Why is everyone so sure Niemann is going somewhere? Everyone knows our defensive personnel is not that good as a group.

-Basically all of our D Ends are third down-only type guys who have to suck it up and play first and second down anyway.

-We have 2 good D Tackles (Bishop, Wells) after which it tapers off pretty fast.

-We've played almost the whole season without a starting backer (Lemon)

-Our corners are try-hard guys for the most part and Evans has been hurt a lot.

Let's see any coordinator look great with that group. We're 33 and 5 as a team since Niemann has been D-Coordinator so he must be doing at least a little something right.

Nobody is saying he's going to get fired lol, the assumption is he's going to go somewhere and get a pay raise.

But why? It's not like our D is something great. It's just good enough with our O and that's it.

I clearly remember Beebe slapping the ball out of Leon Lett's hand just a few yards from the end zone in the super bowl when Lett was showboating after a fumble recovery. For that reason alone I would like to see him coaching at NIU in any capacity..Speed coach? Tenacity Coach?? Poetic Justice Administrator?

House of Speed runs camps all over the midwest and east coast to top HS talent. I'm sure Don has already developed relationships with HS with top kids trying to get to the next level. Not saying he'd be as good as Ward, but it is possible. Could even be better? It would be nice to have them both.
