What you hope is that the voters that had UCF/Louisville/NIU all placed around the same as each other, clearly saw NIU as the better team this week...not sure that happened, but I'll hope.
It took a near miracle for UCF to beat a really bad Temple team. And UCF beat Louisville (voters still need to correct their voting between those two teams), so voters hopefully see that an undefeated NIU is playing better than both of them right now.
I'm just not sure they'll look that closely unfortunately, would have been real nice to at least have one of them lose

You don't think they will look at the opponent, than look at the final score? That's as basic as it gets, they see the opponent being Temple (******) and they see the score (wow barely won).
That's all it will take.

How far does Stanford drop after losing to unranked USC to get to 2 losses to unranked schools? I would say 12-15.

They were ranked 5 before tonight's close loss on the road. Because they beat Oregon, I doubt they fall lower than 11 most lithely staying ahead of two loss South Carolina which struggled with lowly Florida at home.

I would guess to #9, ahead of the two loss SEC teams. USC has 8 wins now, and may well find their way into the top 25 this week. Stanford has six wins over teams with winning records, including three currently in the Top 25 (Oregon, UCLA, Az St).

I don't see the voters trying to compare UCF, NIU, and Louisville on a weekly basis. Instead, they look at a team's performance this week relative to the teams around them. Louisville has been overrated all year since they upset Florida in the Sugar bowl last year. They also have one of the best defenses in the country. They beat a good team, Houston, who has 7 wins this week. They will hold their position relative to NIU - both teams had quality wins this week.

BCS guru and CBS are making it seem like Duke and USC will steal some of NIUs votes

I think you are right, should come in about 15th... It shows how important position on the rankings board can be... With two losses to very unranked teams, not o lot of teams would still be in the top 25....

Auburn Miracle w. CBS Verne Lundquist call
Here's the miracle Auburn TD, in case you missed it - Love the way they let the pictures tell the story. I think I like Georgia out of the top 25, rather than banking on 2 Auburn losses to have them fall below us.
