3-7 and those three wins come from the MAC. Not a good start, but somewhat to be expected. Hoping Georgia, Nebraska, and Texas can come back and win.

Some of those games are completely meaningless to us.
Temple just missing the miracle hurts, but the other ones to root for are:
Nebraska over Michigan State
Texas over Oklahoma State
Houston over Louisville - not likely
Florida over South Carolina - not likely at all
That's about all that's left at this point. [/i]

How can you say that the Auburn-Georgia game isn't important to us? If the Tigers lose today and fall in the Iron Bowl, they'll have three losses and drop behind us in both human polls. I know they're up big at the half, but the games not over.
And Arizona St. is ahead of us in the computer polls. We need to root for OSU.

RE: Week 12 Watch
Lots of things happening to help narrow the gap with Fresno in the Coaches poll.
UCLA jumps Fresno with their quality win over 6 win Washington.
Same for Michigan State if they finish off Nebraska.
The ugly win by UCF is going to cause many voters who may have had NIU behind them to move NIU up.
Wisconsin and Oklahoma's big wins are going to take some votes away from Fresno as some voters move them ahead of Fresno after their 51-3 pasting of Indiana and 48-10 pasting of Iowa State.
LSU was idle some voters who had LSU ahead of NIU may move NIU up.

I've only seen a few minutes of MSU/Nebby but the officials are really screwing the Huskers. One play the refs said it wasn't intentional grounding because it reached the line of scrimmage when it clearly wasn't even within 5 yards of the LOS; then a punt is supposedly downed at the 1 when the MSU guy downing it is clearly standing in the end zone.

RE: Week 12 Watch
In my opinion, NIU doesn't gain on Fresno State with losses of teams ranked above both of them. Oklahoma State, for instance, would likely benefit Fresno MORE than Northern because the Cowboys would very well get demoted to a ranking between the two. A Texas loss, on the other hand, won't help Fresno one iota, but would help NIU due to some voters dropping the Longhorns below the Huskies.
The same could be applied to the Auburn/Georgia game. A win by Auburn probably helps the Huskies more than a win by Georgia.
In summary, NIU and MAC fans need to not only root against teams ranked between Fresno and NIU, but also root against teams ranked below NIU, as some voters have such schools rated above the Huskies but below Fresno on their ballots.

You can be in the stands if you want. If the ball is at the 1 yard line, that's where it's down.

The was no definitive replay, but it looked like the ball crossed the goal line and then another MSU player touched it in the field of play.
MSU also benefitted from a few great ball spots...one if them was a two yards past where the runner was down.

I understand your logic, but at some point, those teams have to lose if we are going to finish higher than Fresno.

There are a lot of teams between 14 and 21 in e coaches poll, but the votes are such that its only like 3.3 slots. There is basically a 3-way tie for 14th and a 4-way tie for 18th. The NIU Fresno gap isn't far from being 16-18 rather than 14-21. With no upsets ahead of Fresno, Michigan State and UCLA break the 3 way tie and easily jump Fresno with their quality wins. That moves Fresno down to 16 being idle. NIUs quality win should be enough to get past two of the teams in the 4-way tie, idle LSU and UCF with its ugly win. Oklahoma may have done enough to jump idle Fresno, and I'm not sure where Wisconsin ends up. They may still be wedged between NIU and Fresno, could jump Fresno, or NIU could jump them.
I would not be surprised at all to see NIU and Fresno right next to each other in the polls at 17/18 or 18/19. I can't see them being further apart than 16/19 right now.

Michigan State getting some style points in Lincoln.
Georgia coming back Auburn, Auburn was up like 17 and now leads 37-31. Auburn with a bad punt. Georgia ball at the Auburn 45 yard line.
