I the think the "barking Longhorn" is very close rip off of Texas. The first time I saw the fans do that I though why are they making the Longhorn hand sign then I realized it was "barking".

Yeah, that's true. All 3 looked like they had just been bumped from an airline flight and were marching up to the ticket counter to give the agent an angry talking-to.

Pee Dee came about to clean up our marketing image in the '80's; poor Pee Dee was never truly imbraced by our fan base; not sure of how it all happened but that is when the Jolly Rodger was being produced by a third party and finally the real Pirate; skull and crossbones etc was brought back with full force as official. Pee Dee was just part of the mascot redesign rage in the 80's and it looked to much like a ACC mascot. I will give them the Pee Dee; he never really connected with the fanbase....good reason for us to never look at what the ACC is doing and think it is going to bada$$.

Is this comparable to the Clemson paw print?

Since they are bitter rivals, South Carolina would never put chicken feet prints on thier helments because it elevates the Clemson paw print.

Seems OK for Va Tech to have turkey prints on thier helmets.

Normally I begrudgingly root for State in that game, but I found myself really enjoying UNC winning that game, and really enjoying them stomping the logo.
