RE: My CUSA Rankings
I believe the highest ranked in the BCS poll system. Which would most likely be ECU as much stronger as we are in the computers.

RE: My CUSA Rankings
This is the best team we've fielded since 2009, IMO, but I'm not discounting a late season wtf loss. But it would be very interesting if all three teams finished 7-1. SJ is correct that it would then go to rankings, which would probably give us the edge for the championship.
Btw, been to every game at Marshall since 05, and since this is the last time we will probably play them (at least for a while) I recommend the trip to any Pirates thinking about going. Don't let the state fool you, they are the anti-WVU as far as gameday experience.

How are the Marshall and ECU fans going to cope next year with not being in the same conference? I mean darn guys, does every thread have to turn into a pissing match?

Based on performance (and not on expectations...as is the case with Tulsa), I would group them as follows
1. ECU, Marshall, Rice,
2. MTSU, Tulane
3. UTSA, FAU, North Texas, Tulsa, LaTech
4. UTEP, FIU, UAB
5. USM (I hate writing this down with USM in last place, but it is what it is...at the moment.)
If I were a betting man (and I am) I would put our six bowl slots as ECU (10-2), Marshall (9-3) ,Rice (8-4), MTSU (7-5), Tulane (7-5) and Tulsa (7-5)
As you have each with 1 more loss to finish the regular season, I'm curious who those losses would be to.
If you have Marshall beating East Carolina, then who would Marshall's other loss be to.....? I assume either MTSU or Tulsa.
If you have Marshall losing to ECU, then you expect Marshall to go undefeated up to it's Nov 29 game with the Pirates.
It appears without digging to deep that if your final records come to fruition, that in either scenario (ECU winning at Marshall / ECU losing at Marshall) that ECU would win the East.
If MU loses to MT, but beats us, we would both be at one loss but they would have the head to head tiebreaker and therefore would win the east. Right?
I guess that might be right.
ECU over MTSU
MTSU over Marshall
Marshall over ECU
would give Marshall the division in a tie due to the H2H.
but MTSU's schedule the rest of the way is conducive to going 7-1 in conference.
So if MTSU beat Marshall and went 7-1.
Marshall beat ECU to go 7-1.
and East Carolina beat MTSU and was 7-1.
who then wins the EAST Title ?
The team with the highest rank I believe

Well ECU regains UCF as the pissing match opponent, so there you go.

RE: My CUSA Rankings
Banker MTSU isn't a 3 year old UTSA barely removed from FCS. I don't think we played all that well but to have had 500+ yards of offense yesterday and held MTSU to 334 coming off an emotional week just says what kind of team we have. Especially after our All CUSA RB and MVP of last weeks win went down after 7 carries and his back up even ran for 97 yards on 18 carries (5.2). We are loaded and you really have nothing to be confident about or to base it on but blind faith.
As far out in front of you as we are now, and with NC State still left to play we could very conceivable lose to Marshall and still have the better season and higher ranked team. I mean if we had lost to you last year (which we didn't) we still would have had more wins both overall and in CUSA.
You've already did nothing OOC and even worse you lost to Ohio. We might have two ACC victories in our pocket by the time we get to you. You can't even catch us this season with out a lot of help even if you beat us with what we are doing.

RE: My CUSA Rankings
We are actually #33 now in Massey's composite rankings.
#31 Notre Dame 4-2
#32 Georgia Tech 3-2
#33 East Carolina 4-1
#34 Fresno State 5-0
#35 Michigan State 4-1
Lot of respect in the computers.

ECU deserves every bit of that ranking. The ECU/MT game was a bar brawl. They walked in the bar & we punched them in the freakin mouth, broke their nose, & knocked out three teeth. They got off the deck and commenced swinging.
We hit like that, we win against every other team left on our schedule.
ECU earned that win.....stumbled out of the bar bleeding, but they knocked us out. ECU has my respect because of their mental toughness.

Some of those hits I was like.... Oh S%@#... Had to rewind some of them and was yelling at the screen for the ECU players to get up.
By far the most physical team we have faced this year and probably since CUSA 1.0 southern miss teams.

Our team is mentally tough and it has been a long time since we have lost to a team we shouldn't.
Carden is now 8-0 the last two years vs teams on this board.

That was some old school football. Your team reminded me of our 2008-9 teams. They liked to knock people out.

Hard for me to believe but FAU had a real shot at being 4-2. and 3-1 in conference. We had chances to win both the MTSU and Rice game in the 4th. I think we give Marshall a game on Saturday.
Just glad to see my owls on the upswing.
