My CUSA Rankings
There are two or three of our fans on here that are making the rest of us look bad.

I understand being confident about our team, but you don't have to act like jackasses about it.

Chappy, in a 60 minute to 60 minute comparison, we tied them on theraod and they missed 1 FG as did we. I don't know if Marshall or ECU is better at this point, but we did play VT better and we did it on the road.

1)ECU and Marshall
3)Rice, Tulane, UNT (road loss; plus they have probably the best ooc win for C-USA)
6)FAU, UTSA, MTSU
9)Tulsa
10)La Tech
11)UAB, FIU, UTEP
14)USM

4. UTEP, FIU, UAB
5. USM (I hate writing this down with USM in last place, but it is what it is...at the moment.)

If I were a betting man (and I am) I would put our six bowl slots as ECU (10-2), Marshall (9-3) ,Rice (8-4), MTSU (7-5), Tulane (7-5) and Tulsa (7-5)

As you have each with 1 more loss to finish the regular season, I'm curious who those losses would be to.

If you have Marshall beating East Carolina, then who would Marshall's other loss be to.....? I assume either MTSU or Tulsa.

If you have Marshall losing to ECU, then you expect Marshall to go undefeated up to it's Nov 29 game with the Pirates.

It appears without digging to deep that if your final records come to fruition, that in either scenario (ECU winning at Marshall / ECU losing at Marshall) that ECU would win the East.

03-lmfao They always seem to forget that nugget, or that they ended up losing by more to VT. God them and their moral victories.

Hey lets see who is getting votes in the top 25 polls this week? Marshall hasn't even got a vote all year...07-coffee3

I think those are based on 18 rankings. There will be about 95 rankings included by Wednesday, so the current #s will change a bit.

This. It is pretty comical.

You lost by more points and you lost to Ohio, we've lost one game. You are 1-0 in conference play, we 2-0. Even C-USA agrees,

(10-06-2013 09:35 AM)MarshallHerdFanz Wrote:  Let's change the schedules around. Assume ECU had Marshall's schedule.

They would beat Miami like 52-10
GW 60-3
Ohio-No one knows How good Ohio is. Could be a loss or win.
VT- loss 10-15
Win over UTSA like 28-7

Marshall had ECUs schedule
ODU probably 50-30
FAU- Probably 48-14
VT- 21-29
NC- Who knows
MT- Probable win but we will have to see.

Marshall has two ECU games They have already played coming up. FAU and MTSU

ECU maybe 3-2 or 4-1
Marshall 3-2 or 4-1

The VT games were close losses for both ECU and Marshall, so at best that would seemingly make them even; but the separation in my opinion happens when you see what ECU and Marshall have done on the road; ECU is 2-0 on the road, while Marshall is 0-2 on the road. Marshall's next two games are on the road against FAU and MTSU, which are two teams that will likely finish between 2-4 in CUSA; so we will know a lot more about Marshall in the next couple of weeks.

Finally, any ranking that doesn't have Tulane as one of the top teams in CUSA West is bogus.

Actually, it demonstrates reading comprehension. I never claimed anyone considered us an easy win. I said I hope they will.

I was being sarcastic regarding this constant pissing contest. As a Marshall fan, I hope every team underestimates our ability. It leads to overconfidence, and pride comes before the fall.

I was making a statement about how claiming "our team" is best only serves the ego. I am proud of Marshall's ability, but not overly confident. We could loose any of our remaining games. I never want to assume we are the best--I want the team to give 100% and let the results speak for themselves. Leave the early season, unproven, conference champion title to someone else. If that makes me appear dumb, please keep assuming.

I guess that might be right.

ECU over MTSU
MTSU over Marshall
Marshall over ECU
would give Marshall the division in a tie due to the H2H.

but MTSU's schedule the rest of the way is conducive to going 7-1 in conference.

So if MTSU beat Marshall and went 7-1.
Marshall beat ECU to go 7-1.
and East Carolina beat MTSU and was 7-1.

who then wins the EAST Title ?
