Can't remember the last time USM lost 13 straight games...next up @Nebraska, @Arkansas, @Boise State...that's not going to be fun for you guys.

Hey, Texas State's not a bad team at all. That said, my Coogs slept on them, too. My deepest sympathies, guys. All you can do is congratulate them, lick your wounds, and promise to "get 'em next time", as I like to say.

First game of the season, and eggs get laid. Surely, nobody is going to slit their wrist after one game. They always say great improvement is made from week one to week two.

Yeah, the knife in our back kinda hurts performance. Enjoy your thirty FedEx pieces of silver, though.

USM would have taken the bid if offered...that's why I don't hate UL or Rutgers...if the ACC or B1G called on us instead of them, we would have said yes too.

It's just the order of things...with respect to Tulane, though...I would have taken USM over the Green Wave.

I didn't get that change either.. we're holding them to about 13 yards per drive up until that change. You dont change what's working, do you?

Well, to be honest Texas State was playing very conservatively with the lead (and why not? Our offense was its own worst enemy). Once we got the lead I was hoping the defense could stop them now that they were going to open up their offense. It looked like they would after the first two plays, but they committed a cardinal sin on 3rd and 20 by dropping their DBs beyond the first down marker.

RE: Tx St. @ So. Miss
I have to say USM made too many stupid mistakes and took an embarrassing loss to a team that really they should have beat pretty handy. I am not meaning to run down Texas State, they played well enough to win, but looking at the stats and listening to the game on radio, it was clear mistakes USM made beat USM not the Bobcats. I congratulate them on what is a big win for them, but I am very disappointed considering we are playing 3 teams that would have slaughtered this team we gave a game to tonight. I will say that Texas State played a good game but honestly it was USM that lost the game as much as Texas State won.

That many turnover will kill your chances. I am sure USM will improve that and have a good year.

it doesn't ma tter. we're launching into the world of having to beat boise, nebraska, or arkansas on order to avoid 0-16

The FCS already has 8 wins over the FBS this season.

Towson 33 Connecticut 18
Southern Utah 22 South Alabama 21
Samford 31 Georgia State 21
North Dakota State 24 Kansas State 21
Eastern Washington 49 #25 Oregon State 46
McNeese State 53 South Florida 21
Northern Iowa 28 Iowa State 20
Eastern Illinois 40 San Diego State 19

and 5 losses by 14 or fewer points.

East Carolina 52 Old Dominion 38
Illinois 42 Southern Illinois 34
West Virginia 24 William & Mary 17
Boston College 24 Villinova 14
Kent State 17 Liberty 10

The earth must have shifted off its axis. OMG. 8 wins in week one!

P.S. #19 Boise State is getting manhandled by Washington 38-6 in the 4th with 2:53 left. We might have a chance to win that game.

Is this due to realignment or something else? I'm not being an ass. I really want to know.

Funslinger: I hope and pray your coaching staff is paying attention to the Boise State game and taking notes.
