Few ways you can look at that, ya'll gave up the ball 6 times . . OR we forced those turnovers OR a combination of the 2 (which is my take on it). I know ya'll put a lot of stock into winning this game .. . 0-13 sucks, and I feel for ya. Glad we got the win. . . . It's a 60 minute contest, and ya gotta play all of 'em . . . . we got a few breaks at the end, and we're comin' home with a W. I sincerely wish ya'll nothing but success tha rest of your season, and would love to play ya'll again, though next time we'd like to play host . . . all the best to ya USM 04-cheers

TXST beat the crud out of Houston, New Mexico State and Idaho last year with mostly fcs talent... we also hung close with La Tech, Nevada, San Jose State, and Navy.

Top that off with two straight recruiting classes that were better than most of the non-aq teams, some big time transfers and a year of fbs experience plus a coach known for turning teams around and you get a team that's better than most people think.

we're not going to be bcs busting, but we aren't a bad team either.

I'm not counting the 6th one.. that was basically a throw it up there and pray one of our guys comes down with a miracle catch/play.

But the other 5 were pretty much gifts. I dont think any of the fumbles were strips or good hits, they were literally bad ball protection on pretty much everyone one of them. (The TD return one was the one that REALLY pissed me off at the officials, because it looked like the forward momentum of Holmes was stopped completely and the whistle never blew). The first interception , we have the same formation on the field, we throw the exact same play, it was no surprise that was an interception.

we should be talking about how the third one almost cost us a win.

Best win Texas St has had since Paul Blake faked the extra point and found Charlie Banks in the endzone to beat the Texas Colts. That team led by Straight Arrow Gennero was scrappy too. Plus they had the hottest place kicker in CFB history.

They all cost us X... and the could have all been prevented if our guys had done what they were supposed to do and protect the ball (or not make bad throws...). TxSt was just able to capitalize on that one which bit us in the ass.

Ellis Johnson killed y'all. USM has too much tradition to stay bad for long. Youll get it turned around.

I certainly didn't expect this outcome, but I'm still gonna be routing for USM (except for the Marshall game, of course). C-USA needs you strong. Don't get down on yourselves. It will come!

Don't take it so hard . . we're actually a pretty good team with a little football history, hell we even have a couple of Natl. Championships, D-II... . . but their still Natl. titles, won on the field, at least you didn't drop your home opener to an FCS program . . .. .

Yea, but all that would have been for naught If "Stonehands" hadn't made the TD catch . .. . . (and she was pretty hot)

Best of luck this season USM. Y'all got some promising talent. Think you'll turn things around this season once the new system clicks. Hope y'all sneak a win in the next three games.

Rumor is that Texas State prepared today's game plan from Stinkfist's closed practice updates posted in this forum.

If you read the posts Texas State tards made, you'd think they were BCS busters.
