As long as our second teams get some PT, I'll be happy with that result.

jmu at #22 for FCS...funny we are ahead of ODU though

134th... 4 spots ahead of ole dirty. Cue the "sagarin is pointless" comments.

That's significant enough for me to think we might have ourselves a game up there.

Not to diminish but how does Sagarin put out a preseason ranking? What does he base his #'s on before any game has been played. History of the program, last year's final numbers? Seems like it would take 4 or so games to be decided before any meaningful current relationship could be detected amongst teams.

Has us at about a 6 point favorite, but it's at Akron, which will take away three. So according to this - and I'm a doubter in Sagarin in general - we should be favored by 3 at Akron (of course all of that will change after this weekend).

My (albeit fuzzy) recollection of the reason is that at some point in the fourth quarter the scoreboard clock kept running after a play when it should have stopped. The refs then just kept the time on the field but never announced it to the booth or the crowd, which is unusual. I think MM did say in the post game PC that the refs did let the coaches know what was going on. So the final plays were valid, but it was very strange that the refs didn't clue everyone else in.

Yes, you're right, that was the story that came out later. Was a very bizarre ending.

No idea. He doesn't really explain his methodology and pretty much says it's not all that accurate till 4-5 weeks in anyway. It's just fun water cooler talk since it's the only poll that people have heard of that lumps FCS/FBS together.

Agree. In the meantime, let's enjoy our anticipated statistical victory over Akron!COGS

I had given my four tickets to a friend, therefore, I missed out on that exciting ending....

You should be glad you missed it. Ccsu took us to the house 57-6. It was the worst loss in school history.
Brizzock, way to read between the lines! That's exactly what it is! Unfortunately, the final score made the Mac commish rescind our invitation.

Great question. I'll say JMU/ccsu, bama/tech, ecu/odu in that order from largest margin to smallest margin of victory. I'll be shocked if ecu wins by more than 14.
