Truer words have never been spoken on a sport message board. Hope the kids involved get their priorities/lives straightened out, if indeed they actually did what the media is reporting.

Quote:Jones has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault. His bond is set at $30,000.
O'Neal has been charged with aiding and abetting. He is being held on $20,000 bond.
Not cheap. Figure the bondsmen charge about 12-15%... that could be 3 or 4 thousand to get out before trial. Some families can handle that, and some cannot.

Our AD and Head Coach will do the right thing. As someone else posted, MT doesn't try to cover it up and deals with it accordingly. Chris Massaro and I had a long discussion about this kind of thing just last Tuesday. If the players are guilty, they'll probably be gone. Domestic assault is not tolerated at Middle Tennessee.
If you don't believe me, Google "Eldred King".
I've been in Germantown playing golf all day with some Tiger fans and attended my college roommate's birthday party. Just got home. I wondered why I got a text from madtiger around 9:30 tonight asking me why Jeb Hill was tweeting about me. I didn't figure it was to solicit my Highland Hundred dues for this season.
Go Blue Raiders!

1 and 1 against a real WKU team. Counting wins against an FCS transitional team is pretty bush league.
Bush league? You beat us in 2007, your first year in transition, a game I counted. Your count is still off, you guys were in transition in 2007 and 2008, we split those two games, but that still means he's 3-1, not 1-1, not sure where you got that number. So if you wanna call it 3-1, that's fine by me I suppose, that's a better winning percentage for Stock...

It is 2-1. My bad. I was thinking we were not full fbs until 2011. It was actually 2010. We have been full bowl eligible FBS in 10, 11, 12. In that span the road team has won every game. So we will just have to wait one more year to settle the score.
All 3 games have been incredibly competitive and close.

Yep.
And at Middle Tennessee, suspended means suspended and permanently dismissed is actually permanent. What a novel idea.

According to MTSU's official website as of this writing, two of the players arrested (Jared Singletary and Marcus Henry) in February 2013 remain on the 2013 Roster.

There has been a string of arrests lately under Stockdale's watch but I do not blame him and do not think MTSU has a culture accepting of lawlessness. I hope the young men turn their life around.

According to the MTSU spokesman (Sgt Broedy Stukcy), the alleged assaults occurred in “a series of various events,” including last November.

There are some folks who could conclude that the coaching staff knew or should have known about the bad behavior and should have acted sooner to discipline the players.
I think the MTSU coaching staff cannot monitor all their players all the time. Each player has to take responsibility for their own actions.

Three football players from Middle Tennessee State University have been suspended from the team, following an altercation Saturday.
Sophomores James De'Angelo "J.D." Jones, Rodney O'Neal and Marcus Robinson were suspended from the team on Saturday.
Jones has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault. His bond is set at $30,000.
O'Neal has been charged with aiding and abetting. He is being held on $20,000 bond.
It is unclear if Robinson has been charged, although MTSU officials confirm he was involved in the incident.
I would rather it be our players than our slime ball coach.

The fact that you felt compelled to justify posting this is telling. Be a troll or don't, but don't half ass it if you're going to troll and say you're only doing it because "Middle fans...".

The whole story isn't told here though. Being in the wrong place at the wrong time, taking up for your teammate and then being singled out cause you play football is not the same thing as some of the other things that happen.
Can't recall if the charges were dropped for those two or if they just got a fine, but it wasn't a big deal. Those can be handled internally without dismissing
This latest one - on the surface - doesn't sound too good, but we haven't heard all of the details yet. If it is bad make no mistake there is zero tolerance for serious crimes. If true they will be dismissed and probably kicked out of school.

It's true. Some things sound worse in the initial reports sometimes. Wait for the full story and then judge.
