Which makes sense if we're only talking undergrad. But with our Medical, Dental, & Nursing schools, we would be higher.

Knew you guys had a Dental school, but was unaware you had a medical and nursing school. Makes your blowing us by in budget and attendance a little more easy to see now.

Mississippi's IHL would never allow us programs like that or even smaller programs. Hail, they wouldn't even allow us a Gaming and Casino Management program on the coast campus. Which allowed Tulane to come in and open one.

You think NC just gave us a medical school? They'd have rather had poor people in eastern NC have to drive 3 or 4 hours(no interstate then) to Chapel Hill 40 years ago. Maybe with serious injuries or conditions than give us one. Like everything else our past leaders had to fight for it and get legislature leverage.

That med school was down to ECU and Charlotte, but ECU won out because it accomplished two things: it added a (needed) third med school to the state and it served an underserved area.

Charlotte was already well enough served with two major hospitals, so ECU won out.

I keep hoping someday they'll add a fourth, but all we've seen so far is a branch campus from Chapel Hill opening in Charlotte 03-puke

The Novany CEO wanted to partner with us and CMC to open a public-private med school, but the CMC CEO is a Tarheel and he seemed to favor the branch campus concept.

Charlotte actually had 3 MAJOR hospitals back then. Memorial (CMC), Presby (Novant) and Mercy (Catholic). Also, Charlotte (the school) was not involved whatsoever back at the time ECU got their med school.

Oh wait, that's because music and art degrees are worthless to 99.9% of employers.

Not sure what to think of these rankings. If it's true what another poster wrote saying that grad schools were not taken into account, then I guess that explains why FIU is ranked below some former SB schools. I'm sure that if our Medical, Nursing, Law and Bussiness schools would've been cosidered, we would be ranked much higher. We've been the highest ranked SB school the past few years. The US News Report which I'm more familiar with, has ranked FIU as one of the "top 100 public universities".

Yeah, I mean, those RYP scores are super relevant in the quality of education and college isn't about higher learning, just a place for you to get a job...right? Anyway, there's over 100,00 alumni working in the Metroplex and 70,000 in Houston, so yeah, 99% doesn't seem quite accurate.

Has it ever crossed your mind that I picked a school based on their expertise at the program I was interested in at the time? UNT has the only accredited journalism program in the state.

Well, UNT is rated in the same tier as UH in most publications, so, if we're always low, so are you. Also, you act like I didn't get into UH and it's so superior...I did. It's not hard. UNT and UH both admit right around the same quartile of students...these are facts.

I have been trying to avoid your pissing matches but holy **** you're an inferiority complex laced twat with nothing to back up your opinions over UH's supposed superiority. I'm tired of your diatribe...apparently they don't teach people how to code properly, judging by the tags in your signature.

What really hurts Tulane is the debt category (we're top 10 spendy) and retention. When in NOLA many a flower floats away.

If I wanted ROI I'd buy a Taco Bell. A Taco Bell has to be like a license to print money. Then, after I started making money, I'd be all like "store-bought girlfriend, here I come!" and I'd shower everyone in nacho cheese and do a little dance.

From 2009 Forbes “America’s Best Colleges”...
In the category of “Best Colleges and Universities in America,” MTSU ranked as the top public institution in Tennessee and was one of the top 100 public universities in the nation among 600 schools included in the evaluation.

I hate these damn rankings. I hate them even when they're favorable. They're inconsistent (as pointed out above) They're all a bunch of BS whether they talk good about you and rank you high or say you're pile of dung and rank you low. Every single one of them are crap garbage designed to sell magazines.

I can't speak to the first few comments you've made, but I agree 100% with your last paragraph. Those rankings create more questions than they answer for all but a very few universities. If folks are happy with where they went/are going to college, the resulting education, and environment while they were/are there; that's good enough for me.

My source? Every ranking, where pUNT is miles behind. How can I have inferiority complex when my school is better? Lulz pUNT fan's argument is just as strong as their football team. And yes, I don't know how to write code

Mate, face it. UH is ranked better in practically everything. You didnt know that when you chose UNT and now you're bitter and feel the need to reference "coog high" in every post you can. You dont see UH fans going around talking about UNT out of thin air.

Also, does it make you feel better to make up "facts" about journalism schools, FFS, one google search proves you wrong. UT, baylor, tcu, texas state, and even abilene christian all have it.
