Lincoln fighting for the union and against slavery.
Going to war--finally--against Hitler and the Nazis.
The civil rights movement.

I think of the line, perhaps attributable to Churchill, the America can always be trusted to do the right thing--after it has exhausted all other possibilities.

I agree. We need to get away from trickle down/rightwing economic policies that got us here over the last 30ish years.

Yeah, the War of Northern Aggression was a "good point" of our history... goes to show whomever wins the battle gets to write the history books.

This is still a great country, that's why there won't be any "armned" revolution. IMO, folks are ready to "fight" will not want to lose all the luxuries this country provides so, in the end, there will be no "fight", not against each other anyway. We have our issues, but we've done the Civil War thing before, and I'm more than sure we learned our lesson. At least I hope so.

You just never hear people getting upset when another country wants to keep a fort in the harbor of one of your main cities. Doesn't make sense. And for those that say the states could not leave the union look back to the Northeastern states almost succeeding a few years before.

We never did the Civil War thing. We were not part of the union.
People get upset enough all those luxuries do not matter to them.

It's along the same lines of a certain demographic voting for Brak Oblamo in the 95% range, even though they know well the damage he's doing... just to chop the other demographic off at the knees.

Sometimes the damage to the other side is well worth the hassle, otherwise known as collateral damage... and to "play fair", you may have to get a little dirty too.

Yeah, I just didn't feel like playing the name game. Anyway, things are different today and people, even pissed off people, are to materialistic and like what modern society has to offer them. For that reason, IMO, we'll always have plenty of "talk" but, at least in the US, no actually guns shooting.

You guys act like upon the first shot the TV's, cell phones, & internet will disappear into a puff of smoke...

I mean, what are they going to do???? Listen to our phone convos? Take over control of what the media says? Watch our text messages? Fly drones over us? Eves drop our internet connections? Try to take the 1st, 2nd & 4th amendments? Isn't all of that already happening?

I get the feeling most of you are still in school, or at least still in your 20's by some of the stuff you say. At the rate the US dollar is currently deflating and business is leaving the North, the pimple is coming to a head sooner or later

His shooting form is quite poor. He needs to lean into the pose a bit more, and I would bet you $1,000 that he has his right eye closed and it trying to aim that shot......
