RE: Iowa game discussion
Well yeah, that could happen too but given that not much is expected of Iowa this year I'd wager it's on the U at 2:30 or Deuce at 11, assuming what HJ heard about it not being on BTN at night is correct.

RE: Iowa game discussion
BTN night games will be announced on Monday.
The rumor was traced back to Kirk saying that he didn't see any night games on the schedule. Not sure if this was only in reference to the ESPN schedule or also included the BTN schedule.

RE: Iowa game discussion
Iowa fans feeling pretty good they will be 6-0 headed into the OSU game. Only 1 or 2 responses in their "6-0" thread see NIU as any kind of a threat.
http://iowa.rivals.com/showmsg.asp?fid=8...40&style=2
Quote from the Iowa board on NIU losses citing why they are confident NIU doesnt pose a threat
"NIU loses 10 starter off their defenses and all 8 off their 2 deeps of the Dline
ISU loses 7 offensive starters and 7 defensive starters."
Also found something interesting on their board, Iowa is going to the no huddle offense this year, Im not liking the sound of that too much ugh.

Could this be the biggest opener in NIU history?

First game of the year, they are going to have issues running it to perfection just like we did when we first started using the no huddle.

Great point, that could be something that plays out in the penalty or turnover part of the game.

Wait, we lost 10 starters on defense? Somebody better tell Ward, Bass, Bishop, Evans (or Moore), and Durante.

I think its a case of someone on the Iowa board trying to talk themselves into NIU-Iowa being a blow out. Iowa will probably win, but its hard to imagine Iowa not having any trouble with NIU

Just as the O line was an unknown going into last season, the D line is a big unknown this year. Hopefully we have some good young players and a coaching staff that can coach them up. We might need to score a ton of points in the early season games.

The D-line probably wont have as much depth as it did last year, but we are returning some good players. It won't be a complete mess like some people think. I am more worried about the LB positions for the Iowa game. However, I do like the game plan of scoring a lot of points just in case the defense isn't up to par.
Also, I was in Iowa City yesterday and I wore my Huskies hat and not one person said anything to me. I was kind of surprised.

I agree, the defense is going to be very good, a lot of people are forgetting about ONeal, this guy is a stud! NIU rotated so many players in and out at d-line that the depth is just incredible. My only small concern is offensive playmakers replacing Moore and Ashford.
There is no doubt Iowa fans think very little of NIU. I didnt realize just to the degree until visiting their message board. They are definitely much more concerned about the Cyclones stealing a win from them in Ames than NIU getting one in Iowa City.

Why would you be worried about the LB position? Bass is a two year starter, Santa is a 2 year situational player, and I think Boomer is just as good if not better than Jacques.

Doesn't help we've scored a total of 34 points in our last 3 meetings vs Iowa.
Putting up 28-31 points should get us the long-awaited "W".

With what we return offensively, this is the year it's likely to happen. No reason we can't hang 30.

I thought NIU would score against Wisconsin with Harnish in his senior year, a great OL, etc. I know 2013 Iowa is not 2011 Wisconsin...but it makes me doubt a bit.

OSU vs Buffalo will get the 11am ABC spot over us.
No way we get a 2:30pm ABC slot vs a down Iowa team even if it is regional.

Never underestimate the power of 2 things 1) the star power in Lynch in attracting a better slot coming off an Orange Bowl which was one of the higher rated bowl games except for nationalchampionship and 2) the brand name of Iowa. I say we get a 230 slot on ABC.

ITS OSU and they just came off a 12-0 season.
Urban Meyer trumps Lynch any day.
Iowa isn't going to get a 2:30pm ABC slot when they couldn't even get a BTN prime time game.
