More what? From everything I've seen (and this could be completely inaccurate) we traded Rudy & Haddadi. Picked up Davis, Prince, and Daye and a pick. And will save over 30 million over the next 3 yrs I think..

Some just don't realize the business side of trades. You nailed it with saving 30 million over the next 3 yrs.

Has Charlie O'Finley written all over it.

So much easier not to care, but yeah, it does smack of Charlie O.

Rudy is a good player but playing with zbo n Marc took away from his strengths. The lane is always clogged with them so it took away from Rudy at times. Rudy will prob flourish in Toronto being the first option.

Wonder why more people that dogged him, didn't realize this? Or Hollins?

They did realize it, but the fact of the matter is the year Rudy went down was the beginning of the end for him (fair or unfair) because once that happened the Grizzlies identity changed and the team began to run through Marc and Zach.

Go back and read all the criticism. NO one realized it that "wanted" Rudy gone.

And, that "Grizz did it without " Rudy excuse is old and played out. What did they do? They LOST .

We were never going to get a fair deal with Rudy. I hate to see him go but am pleased with what we got.

Not before they dominated the Spurs in 6 games and not before they came within one game of the western conference finals. That's all they did without Rudy nothing major or big at all for this franchise.

Last year with Rudy everyone thought we would be able to improve on the year before, but what happened lost to the Clippers in the first round.

The grizzlies aren't going to be any worse offensively than they are this year, last year, or two years ago. This team has never been a great shooting team that's just the nature of this team why it shocks everyone I have no idea.

I think it's great trade actually...Prince will be a nice 3, IMO...Zach and Marc are the number one options, which is how it should be...I agree with the other who think Ed Davis is a quality pick up...He's big, smart and young...He'll be good here...Personally, I like Austin Daye too...He really just needs a chance to play, IMO...Huge guy who can play the 1,2 or the 3...I think it's agreat trade and I'll bet we'll be a better team

ehh..as for (2), Clippers would be better period. Athletic bigs, great PG backed up by another solid guard...hard for us to match that. We have to hope our bevy of big guys can slow them down. Something had to be done and however you wanna look at it, any chance of keeping a contending team involved trading Gay so we can at least get some good-to-decent pieces in return.

the new management made a move they had to make. now how they rebuild from this is going to tell the tale on keeping or losing the locker room AND the ticket buyers. go cheap and put the team in the tank and folks will switch off quick - and one thing about memphians - they WILL hold a grudge and you will never get them all back no matter what you do.

long-term probably a good move.

Sad for this year though. Not that I'm giving up, I just wish we had a good starting SF.

They're tired of the NBA too, and this relieves them from watching.

I just wonder if you dislike the NBA so much why do you comment on posts in an NBA forum?

So your saying because the new owner is trying to clean up the financial mess that Heisley got this team in is a sign that he doesn't care about winning.

I'm saying that I no longer care about the NBA and am extremely grateful to the new owner; after years and years of apathy, I was just beginning to care a little, and I didn't want to. Now I don't. So I'm thrilled.
