Most Mashall fans would rather play a SoCon school, if we are going to play a IAA school (Yes I still call it IAA). We would rather bring in WCU like last year than play Gardner Webb.

Marshall had a way of busting our balloon. They beat us in bball in 1991 when we thought no socon team could. Fast forward to 96 when ETSU football was for real again......and then comes the Randy Moss game.

Who's a bigger rival, WCU or WVU?

That's what I'm talking about.

For you to fail to get the joke there, I realize what a humorless life you have led.

I don't feel angry at you. Just sad.

Now follow up with some pretentious, long winded drivel that insults me.

For fans who might not know, a few years back the local media that was sympathetic to ETSU's then-administration was trying to play up KSU and ETSU as a rivalry. It obviously didn't work out as planned. Hence the rather hilarious reference from Bucster.

???? *What* are you talking about? I not only *got* the joke, I added to it. You're way off on this one. Again. And yes, it was indeed a good one.

You may have added on to it, but not very well.

Nither...Marshall's biggest and most played rival is the Ohio Bobcats. As far as the people up noth goes, we could never play them again in anything and most Marshall fans would be happy with that. We usually beat them most of the time in olympic sports. We have beat their Tennis team 12 years in a row and plan to make it 13 in less than an hour. Also Marshall has beat them 12 out of the 13 times in Volleyball, looked at the schedule this year and no WVU on the schedule. They claimed B12 scheduling, well there are less B12 teams than BE teams.

I'd like to add Vanderbilt and Memphis. Never forget the time during the golden years when ETSU put a beat down on Memphis. Special moment I'd like to repeat!

Ohio still drew 33,652. We always take 10K or more to Athens. Athens is only 88 miles away. If Ohio would bring that many to Huntington we would have had 40K at the game, instead thy brought a whopping 652. They were give 1500 tickets and returned over half which were sold in less than a half hour.

my dad played football ETSU in the 70's and just asked him this question. if first answer was "no doubt Appy State. I hated them and still do. Then he kinda surprised me and said Tenn. Tech. Said that the Tech football coach would always said that State had no chance of beating them and that was always on the bulletin board and most of the time they whooped Tech

I cannot wait until we get back into the football game and get those rivalries going again. It is going to make Fall semester fun again!

If Fulmer came here, obviously everyone would want to see ETSU vs. UT.....but I personally wouldn't want to see it until about 4-5 yrs after the program was started so we can at least have a shot lol

If Ohio is perceived as a bigger rival to Marshall than WVU, then that is all I need to know as to why the Herd hasn't done anything since the late '90s on the gridiron.
