not to mention, the SoCon tournament is in Asheville, NC if I'm not mistaken...thats an added bonus

Over the years its been in Asheville, Greensboro, Charleston and Greenville,SC. All being better choices than Macon or the dreaded Gardner-Webb/ Belmont invitationals held in Johnson City.

Not only do I agree 100 percent, but if you want to know how the athletic department at ETSU became so backwards then perhaps you should consider they used to draw up these mini committees to decide who the next coach should be, and invariably they'd have the student government president on them.
Just the person I want with 1/6th of a vote to determine who the next women's basketball coach should be!!!!!

RPI is overrated.

On the topic at hand, I completely agree.

That's Fu-nee!
And some of you may not remember, but there was some serious bad blood between some in the SoCon (gosh it feels good to type that again) and mullins, WAY before he became AD. Furman especially, but others, too.
Don't really want or need to drag those old bones back up, but I can assure you that mullins not being part of the AD situation going forward made that easier for Noland.
To be sure, the SoCon 'needs' ETSU now more than a year ago, but still...
Yes, it's amazing what some honesty, a fresh attitude, and a willingness to rebuild bridges can do for a problem.

How about an ETSU + Mercer to the SoCon announcement in the same day. I'm hoping for that!

The tea leaves tell me that if that is going to happen, that's the way it will be announced.
