The concessions still suck. Though the volleyball ladies are very nice.
The stupid-ass promo games in timeouts and various "cams" suck worse than a Mike Davis recruiting class.

And run away if the team loses; looks extra douchish when you're heading for the exit early with a big-ass "A" painted on your chest.

They expect miracles in the first year.
They don't come to games.
They only show up for one game.
They leave before that game is over.
They complain about how horrible the players are.
They don't like it when the team shows support for each other during free throws.
They don't cheer at games.
They sit in the student section and try to bring attention to themselves with stupid antics rather than cheering on the team.
I don't see anything here that is incorrect.

RE: Turnovers and other things wrong with Haase-Fast
We do have a bad fanbase. Took me a while to finally come to that realization. It's just the harsh truth.
Oh, and our team is not good at all this year. I'm really disappointed, but I guess I expected too much from Swing and Purifoy. I thought those two were going to be stars. We have no point guard, one big man, one shooter, no depth, one underperforming high d1 talent player, and 3 decent-to-good d1 players. That ain't gonna cut it. Unless some guys really improve from this year to next, or our incoming recruiting class is ready to perform at a high level from the get go, next year isn't going to be great either. It really may be the year after next before we are back to UAB standards.
I said this in another post, but I cringe to think about how bad we would've been this year with MD and his recruiting class.

Yeah we're ok but our athletic programs are floundering. I didn't realistically expect a bowl game or an NCAA tourney appearance from our football and basketball teams, but I was hoping for seasons that would at least generate excitement and set the stage for future success. The football season was a bust and the team looked worse and worse as the season went on. This year's bball team is starting to tank as well. Not fun or easy.

The things we are experiencing is nothing different that a lot of other teams.
It just takes time to turn the ship.

A dynamic point guard in the mould of Squeaky, AJ, and all the other greats before them, would cure a lot of things that are wrong with this team.

Yep. We also are missing players that can consistently knock down the outside shot.

We know Purifoy, Swing & Williams can shoot. For whatever reason, they aren't knocking them down this year.

Height and a point guard?
I swear this fan base is awful when things don't go perfectly for our teams. McGee took over a team that had come off something like its 75th straight losing season. Haase took over a team with no depth whatsoever. Both have tried to do what they can with holes on the roster.
I'm noting the people who are talking crap about our programs right now, and if/when either program turns it around I'll be the first to call your ass out when you decide it's time to hop on the band wagon.

We'd still have Herb!
In place of Fahro and Rucker, we'd probably have this Lee College dude:

And some other, much-less-capable fifth-year transfer in place of TJones.
No signings in November, and no commitments for the spring.
Oh yeah, we might have the Munchhausen's Syndrome dude battling Karl Moten for playing time.

We probably even wouldn't have hoops on the Davis-phalt.

Height and big men, a point guard, shooters, depth, a mediocre overall level of talent...
Not necessarily talking crap about the coach or the program, but I will if this persists beyond one year. Just pointing out the obvious - we suck right now. Not saying we will always suck or that we won't end the season on a high note (which is unlikely). But we still suck, as hard as that is to swallow.
The football team sucked, and worse than that, tanked at the end of the season. We were as inconsistent as you can get, yet again. Looked like Same old UAB on the football field to me this past season. Again not saying McGee won't be a good coach or that he won't build a good program. Just stating the obvious - we sucked, we got worse as the year went on, and we lost to teams we shouldn't have and were crazily inconsistent - in other words, same old UAB...

I think one of the things that causes the most anxiety is the thought that the University is sans president, the stadium proposal is in purgatory, and we could be the only founding member of CUSA still in the league in two years.
