Perhaps he should cuss more.

I agree and therein lies the problem. Its on Pastner.

I believe it is the starters responsibility to provide playing time for their buddies sitting at the end of the bench.

The regulars might draw some motivation to complete the mercy killing if we had an angry enforcer impatiently waiting to play lots of minutes in games like this.

I would have had to lay the blame for the second half performance (and the last few minutes of the first half) squarely on the players. I suppose he did when he talked about guys have to stop making mistakes but I'd have really called them out on it. This team has allowed this to happen too many times.

You never call out players in public, it's done in the confines of the locker room with no press around. And yes, he should have put a well placed foot into some of our more vetern players @$$e$ to get their attention for some of the crap that happened in the last 2 minutes of the first half and most of the second half. As someone else noted, a 21 point run should NEVER happen, especially in FEF. Yea, I'm happy with the win, but concerned that blowing big leads is starting to trend the wrong way that will bite us in the butts down the road. Hopefully the Tigers will go into Bartow arena Saturday and take care of business against a very bad UAB team. Beat em like they stole something from you....GO TIGERS

UAB is not a very bad team. Their RPI ranks 137 out of 347 teams or in the top 40%. They are an average to slightly above average team at this point.

The perception by the media is that C-USA is a bad league when in fact - compared to other leagues - it is above average. The misperception allows the media and even some of our fans to discount the quality of our victories. I believe the misperception seeps into the thought process of the Selection Committee and may result in a worse seed than the facts merit.

Tigers1983, you and I will just have to agree to disagree. UAB is a terrible team, and yes this is an awful basketball conference, and next year will be even worse....GO TIGERS

Why bring up next year?

You're right. Really don't know why I brought up next year, because next year really won't matter when it comes to CUSA. Thank God.

Yup. I am sure they talk about it at half time. They are going to have to come out at some point and keep the intensity for more than 2 minutes.

They don't have any confidence in themselves...

The fact that JJ shoots 54% from the field and only shoots 8 shots this game when they were going under screens and giving him 15 foot jumpers show this. If you believe in yourself you take that shot every time it presents itself.

It looked obvious to that it was in there heads in this game. As soon as Harvard made some shots, we looked like a deer in headlights.

Hopefully it means they will focus on its and correct the problem. It IS a fixable issue and the players and coaches ALL see the problem.

JJ was just off in this game. He never really got in sync.

Statistically it is about on par with the other games he has had lately, outside of missing FTs.

Thats because he has matured as a player. Its a great example of that.

A game he was never really comfortable or in sync and he held his own. And played pretty good D.

No doubt.

It is a clear indication of Pastner's inability to coach these guys up. I know he's won 75% of his games but dammit....MEMPHIS can do BETTER!

I guess we'll reluctantly take a mere ten point win and trudge on to the Tulane game on Tuesday.
