That's because there weren't that many. No more than 12-13000 actual attendance.

I'm going to make a blind assumption since that seems to be MG's way...

Take away the visiting band and fans and you had less than Troy did. I'll argue that ULL brought more fans than WKU since ULL had their band as well. Once again, this is a blind statement that I believe to be true simply b/c I say it is...is that the correct way of looking at this, MG?

Geeze this is great ! I posted the statement tht Atlanta Trojan made word for word, just changing the school names, when he opened a Troy attendance thread.03-lmfao03-lmfao

Troy attendance thread
http://csnbbs.com/showthread.php?tid=592757

Problem is. Im not always posting crap about UNT. Just about every post you post has something to do with Troy. In our live chat rooms you and a couple of other UNT posters are a topic of conversation and its quite funny. Your not too much liked around these parts bud.

A popularity contest at Troy is probably dead last on my bucket list. Ironic that you, BTH and a few others take multiple shots at schools departing, but whine when people fire back. Bud, if your little group can continue take shots, then be prepared for return fire.

Im not taking shots...And its not just Troy people bud. Its the Live chat for the SBC we hold just about every Saturday. I was actually rooting for UNT to win with UL last night. K thanks, bye!

I guess you counted them. I was there also and I think the official count was close, that is about 55% of capacity. Not that it matter's but in my opinion not bad for a game on a cold Tuesday night that ended at midnight and could be viewed in the comfort of home.

Geez, I continue to be amazed at the focus on attendance by the have nots. There is not a team in the Belt that is a position to brag about attendance and not many in the nation not in the power conferences. ULL was an exception last year and I hope it continues this year and forward, but for most of the Belt, CUSA, MAC and many other teams; it is a struggle.

Lol. You ALWAYS gotta take a jab at Troy! Always!!!

First off I saw a good many UL people in your stands PLUS ULs band.... We had maybe 10-20 WKU people at our game.

Second your in Dallas area and many of your fans live in the area. Most Troy fans have to travel over 2 hours to get to our game so mid week games army good for us

Third. You had 629 more fans than us. Congrats! Lol

Not that it matters in your argument but I was at the Troy game and counted 82 WKU fans there before kickoff. Several came in around kickoff so I'd guess 100-125 total. Once again, not that it matters. 04-rock

I sit in the Troy section 109...50 yard line and there was 15 Topper fans in that section. Four in my group, 6 in another group and they had 5 others to join them that was sitting in the curve of the stadium.

No way there was over 15,000 at Troy or from the looks of it UNT either. Espn hardly ever showed any wide views but when they did other than the student section...the other parts of the stadium were 20% full at best.

Teams always talk about how Tuesday & Thursday games are good when they get on tv, but it's very difficult to make it on a weeknight when they have to go to work the next day

Not that Jay can't defend himself, BUT he's our radio broadcaster. He's got a view of the whole stadium up there in his perch and his sat in more stadiums than you ever will.

I'd trust his word over a homer like you day in day out.

17k is about right.

The students showed up in force. The bottom of the alum side was disappointingly sparse, but what your radio guy probably didn't know is that most of the club level and luxury box people were not sitting outside, they were inside, where it was packed once it started getting cold.

The wind was very cold. If you got out of the wind it wasn't bad at all, but the wind chill was intense.

If 22,000 tickets were sold, then they would've announced at least that, not 17K

it's quite obvious our ticket counting is headscratching. 75% of the stadium was full versus troy and they said 22K.

Either I'm just misunderstanding you, or your math skills are the headscratcher...

The 21,823 they announced is 71% of Apogee's capacity and only about 1,300 shy of the 75% you are suggesting was there. So unless you're suggesting that you could tell the difference between 21,823 and 23,138, I'd say there isn't anything headscratching about your ticket counting...

I'm defending the accusation that he's a moron with an agenda. I challenge the poster to explain what that agenda might be.

He's got no dog in this hunt. To the contrary, I'd think the opposite is true, he'd want to give an honest assessment as possible in regards to attendence. It doesn't help the conference otherwise, it doesn't make my team any better, and it doesn't mean anything to us folks sitting at home listening.

But let's call it what it is, he's not the one trying to suggest that there were 3-5K people in your suites because of the windchill. Which is the alternative universe presented in our little discussion here.

So continue to lie to yourselves if it makes you feel better. Everyone would have a difficult time putting AIS on a Tuesday night in the middle of October, particularly with an 8pm start. I doubt we crack 20k this week.

Actually, he obviously thought it worthwhile to chime in with his opinion that I and many other fans, that were there, know was a low ball figure. I don't know what his motives were but if he was concerned with the conference so much why would he accuse NT of inflating attendance and not by a little by 50%.

As far as lying to myself to feel better, don't have to because NT beat a pretty good team.

I've sat in Apogee for more games than he has. The count is fair.

The guy gets paid to be a homer and tell you UL fans what you want to hear. If all it takes is posting one thing and having other people defend his statement without even being there, I'd say he's doing a pretty good job.

I got to admit, I like UNT's stadium. With so few people in attendance you can really see all the little details of the place. It's cool.
