Great get by the coaching staff. Also, he is a "local" in terms of recent KSU recruits (most have been from out from far away), being from Pittsburgh PA (Gateway HS), so hopefully he has a good support structure that will power/support him through this 1st year.

What??

I too expect them to struggle some this year.

But Senderof has had one year using Ford's players. How can we possibly evaluate him?

I agree.. We have been spoiled by years of reloading. Senderhoff needs to get his recruits in before we give him a fair shake. Although, I do bet they lose to Akron twice. Not sure about OU since they just got a new coach too.

My concern is chemistry and familiarization. We will have at least average to better MAC level talent at all positions. From what I see, depth is better than most of us think. Of course I am an optimist, but we may have a pretty good season and I will not be surprised.

RE: Basketball News -
Why are we writing these guys off? The media has done that plenty of times in the past decade or so and our guys always respond and get the job done. I will say this: we have as much, if not more talent than anyone in the conference. Youth or inexperience is only a challenge if you allow it to be. If we play hard, mistake free basketball, we can win as many games as we are used to.

Hey if the Browns fans can write off a quarterback after 9 pre-season passes what the heck. However I do agree. I would like to at least see the team first!!

21-12 (10-6 in the MAC), a bye in the MAC Tournament and a trip to the semi-finals and wins over West Virginia and Ohio University.

All of this with a team riddled with injuries and an "interesting chemistry". I would argue that any judgements on the head coach are pre-mature. My gut tells me that this year is going to be a struggle. But, hey, that is the fun part.

I just saw that Rob Murphy decided to stay. No details as to why but he still is the EMU coach.

I think there were 210,000 reasons he decided to stay. He was on the 'pay if you go' plan.

RE: Basketball News -
Akron just signed a transfer from West Virginia. A 6'11" center from Brunswick. He has applied for hardship (his father is legally blind which is why he came back to the area). If the NCAA approves he can play for four years and will be eligible immediately. otherwise he sits out this year and plays 3 more. Sounds like a very traditional post player. Anybody know how good he is supposed to be? I just read it today in the ABJ but I forgot his name for now.

RE: Basketball News -
He played in a few games last year at WVU, but then got arrested for theft this spring which prompted his departure from WVU. The hardship application comes after that in an effort to play right away instead of sitting out. He wasn't transferring until after he got arrested. If he were good enough and didn't hit the police blotter, you have to think he would still be at WVU. I don't believe his father's father's sight issues just occurred this year. Huggins released him from scholarship before the "hardship" application was made.

He was a scrub who only played 2 minutes in our beatdown of WVU last season, and their big guys weren't all that great in the first place. He avg. 2 ppg/3 rbg in 7 games and most of those were in a couple of games, then he was benched, and then he got injured and sat out the rest of the season.

Burden,

To save you some time/effort, go the topic I started earlier this season: Dambrot gets a "big" transfer from WVU, comes with baggage

I like this one. Looks like Sendy is doing good at wrapping his Christmas presents for us. I also like that Waters made him an offer. Not that tells a whole lot, but you do remember the 2 supposed nobodys that everyone overlooked named Mitchell & Huffman.

Alpha, good point on Waters. His staff has a knack for finding guys no one has heard of that turn out to be great. They were the only team recruiting Anthony Davis as of his Jr. year in HS. If he would have waited one year to have that growth spurt, he might have wound up a Viking. Now he's arguably the most hyped rookie since Lebron. Talk about the one that got away...

Kind of like Kent's bid on Russell Westbrook a few years back.

Does anyone know when the men's basketball schedule will be released? I know the women's pre-MAC schedule is out.
