Good luck Ponies.
If they can field a team after all the arrests!
I'm sure they'll find a way seeing as though only two players were arrested.

Incorrect. More than two players were arrested. Only two have been formally charged to date. The others may still be charged.

TCU and A&M should sell out, although SMU only drew 27K in an opener against Texas Tech in 2007, so it's not a given.
I would expect much better for Houston this year. The 2010 game was played in a monsoon.
Was that the game with a 2.5 or 3 hour rain delay?
Yes. Interestingly, there was a good amount of people in the stadium for the 4 minutes of action prior to the 3 hour rain delay.
When the skies cleared, the only people left were crazy people like me and the Houston fans that had driven in from out of town (since they had already invested their time and energy into driving to Dallas to see the game, it wouldn't have made much sense for them to leave without seeing the game - escalation of commitment and all)

Okay, so yes, three were arrested, one with dropped charges. Two of the three are still in the courts.
D.J. Yendrey, Tanner Brock, and Ty Horn.
No more, just those three.

That's where supply/demand, especially with a small stadium (32,000) can help...as A&M and TCU fans that buy season tix help SMU's attendance for other home games (i.e. paid attendance)...even if those tix never get used.
SMU probably has their best home schedule in years....as SMU hosts:
TCU
TEXAS A&M
HOUSTON
TULSA
SOUTHERN MISS
STEPHEN A AUSTIN
SMU hosting the Top favorites to win CUSA West (Houston & Tulsa), plus 2011 CUSA Champ Southern Miss...let alone the home games vs TCU and A&M...SMU should smash their attendance figures dating back to when they restarted their program back up during late 80's.
That's what we thought when UCF was in DFW for the SMU thrashing we received. Fortunately we received that thrashing in front of an empty stadium

Will be interesting to see SMU's new marketing efforts which have been nonexistent for the last five years

They will improve...as that was always Orsini's greatest weakness.
Orsini's background was finance, which is why he excelled in financing/raising $$$ for new projects at UCF and SMU...but he is totally clueless about marketing...which is why whoever SMU brings in...they will easily be better than Orsini's leadership in that regard.

I can do more marketing on my own than Orsini did by just putting a sign in my front yard that says come watch Mustang Football.

Bottom line, his efforts have given SMU something to market. Come a long way in a lot of areas under Orsinis watch.

TCU at SMU from 2010 was amazing. That place was absolutely packed.

Get off their case - it had showered in Plano a couple of days before.

Precisely
Most of Dallas had no clue when SMU was at home and when they were on the road during the Orsini era, as SMU literally did NO advertising/marketing

There has been no marketing of SMU for many years. I think part of the problem was a lack of money in the budget. And it was not the forte of the people in power. The only way the local population knew there was an SMU game was by reading the Dallas Morning News, or word of mouth.
Hopefully all that will change. They need to market SMU as Dallas' college team in a sincere, humble, and realistic way. We've got one of the top business schools in the country just a few hundred yards from the athletic offices ... you would think someone at the school could come up with a marketing plan.
