RE: Playoff semis would 'float,' played at higher seed Bowl/Rose Bowl guaranteed tie-in

That didn't happen under Kraggy and I think will be very difficult for any Big East coach to maintain if the glass ceiling is the Liberty or Champs Sports bowl if you aren't Top 4.
1. Couple of things...Kraggy recruited like he was @ Tulsa...that set us back 3 years...remarkable the vast increase in the baseline talent level under CCS.
2. I have a feeling we will do better then Liberty/Champs Sports Bowl...when it all said and done the Orange/Fiesta Bowl will look @ the tie-in with the BIG EAST Champ with a shot in some years with ND but still can get a Boise State as a good selling point.
1. Very true. It was easy to see we were in trouble for upcoming years when we were getting verbal recruitments under Krags where the only other offers were Akron and MTSU.
2. I hope so. I'm not overly optimistic but I'd love to be wrong.

And the BE teams, for the most part, were never going to beat out a mid-level SEC or B10 team for any recruits, anyway.
Sounds like you don't follow FOOTBALL recruiting that closely...as every Big East team has recruiting "wins" vs other major conf and mid-level (and some TOP LEVEL) programs...heck, even UCF, Houston et al in CUSA have a lot of recruiting "wins" over the above which you said Big East teams can't do...which is totally inaccurate.
Even, who in 2008 went 4-8, won a HUGE recruiting battle just 1 month later with MICHIGAN for 4-star CB Josh Robinson, who, after enrolling at UCF that Jan, started at UCF for 3 straight years (All-Conf 1st team Soph/Jr season...All Conf 2nd team as a true Freshman), left UCF early as a Junior and was just selected as the 66th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft by the Vikings.
I'm sure many other fans from Big East schools and UCF, UH et al can come up with LONG recruiting wins over teams you said didn't/doesn't happen...but that list would be LONG...because everyone already knows...so why even bother.

No, I clarified that statement later, if you followed my posts, b/c I misstated my original thought. I should have said "not many," rather than "not any."
All I meant to convey was that the BE does not keep up with the SEC and the B1G on a regular basis in recruiting. That is really not a debatable point.
I started to go back and correct it, but it had been re-quoted so much that it didn't matter at that point.
