WIll Backyard Brawl Continue?
I'm not a fan of either team but like watching this rivalry and would love to see it continue. I was also wondering if Big 12 allows end of year OOC matchups or if this would have to be an early season game? I dont follow these teams or the Big 12. Would also love to see Pitt vs. Penn State or WVU vs. VT happen again annually as well.

Unfortunately it'll be dead for sometime. Its a shame, but it is what it is. Nothing I can do about it.

I'm probably even more of a pessimist when it comes to the BYB ever becoming an annual game again than Joey. Rumor has it that Pitt is working on extended long term scheduling agreements with ND and PSU. The ND thing is fairly firm as I understand it, or at the least it will probably be played 8 times per decade. Rumor has it that a Pitt/PSU renewal is building momentum between the schools. IMO, this is looking to be an unexpected development that I think Pitt would jump on if it presents itself. Potentially, Pitt could be playing Notre Dame, Penn State, Syracuse and Miami as annual games. These 4 schools rank at the top of the most frequently played opponents and would make the schedule look a little like the eastern indie days. As a Pitt fan, having those 4 schools on the schedule annually would be awesome, and no one could ask for anything more.
I think Pitt and WVU go their separate ways for the forseeable future.

+1...Pretty accurate and there isn't bad blood between the two that I'm aware of
Now WVU and Va Tech...there are a lot of hard feelings on both sides with that one

RE: WIll Backyard Brawl Continue?
I'd like to continue the series at some point. But w/ conferences going to 9 week schedules its just tough to get it done. If we face each other again it'll be a 2 or 4 game series at the most.
Best wishes to the WVU program.

I can't see why there is a reason it won't be played. I'm not the biggest hoops fan so it doesn't hurt my feelings either way.

I'd like to see it continue. FSU, Miami, Clemson, GT, Maryland and Pitt, please.

RE: WIll Backyard Brawl Continue?
It won't happen for a long time. Pitt has too many scheduling options to fit in WVU. As mentioned by others both ND and PSU want to have long term series with Pitt. With 9 conference games that doesn't leave room for many more options.
