I don't believe you will find many people in our church or community that would disagree with you. Tom, Terilynn and the twins are all great people. Don't know his son that well as he was off playing ball for the Braves orgnization but he seems to be a fine young man as well.
I am glad someone outside of Louisville noticed. +3 for the kind words.

I met Tom Jurich while my daughter was a football trainer at UofL. He indeed is a nice and honorable man. But he is also a strong willed man that hates to loose.

They have already announced. It just has not been made public.

That's a good point. Lets say what Katz is reporting now actually happened yesterday or last week, my point is recently. Does that qualify as giving notice to the conference an intention to leave to satisfy the contract clause?

RE: Did Louisville really tell the Big East BOD they were leaving?
It doesn't make any sense that the Big 12 is expanding in the near future because they just inked a new TV deal. Sure, contracts are made to be broken and new invitees are supposed to automatically result in a new TV contract...I get it...but it doesn't pass the logic test that the Big 12 would look to expand so soon after the ink just dried on their new contract.
If I may venture a guess as to why rumors of a Big XII expansion with a parade of candidate schools has been discussed for the past year, it would go something like this: The Big XII probably threw a bunch of scenarios together for "what if" analysis, e.g...If BYU and UL were brought into the Big XII would we be able to get "X" amount of money per team? How about Rutgers and Cincy? Would they do better? I seriously believe that these scenarios were bandied about with the idea in mind that the conference may not get as big of a payout as they were hoping/expecting to. However, now that we know the conference is getting a good TV deal, I think the current 10 members are content and I highly doubt that the schools want to go after expansion anymore. JMO, but I think they got the right numbers and are now done.

Not according to the bylaws. The formal Notice of Withdrawal is to be written and accompanied by 25% of the exit fee.

It probably is, just repackaged by Andy Katz to make it look new.

I believe it us. Unless Jurich did something formal like Bob was pointing out in the last few days. Who knows Katz is purposely vague so he can claim he was right either way.

Umm...I'm pretty sure that would be all over the press, like it was in WVU's case, and in both Syracuse and Pitt's cases. I'm pretty sure it would not be in secret.

It would be a lot to ask to keep something like that secret. As someone else said. It would pretty hard to deny wanting out after the fiasco last fall. As for Syracuse and Pitt leaving, Dennis Dodd reported Monday that Marianatto heard from him that those programs were leaving.

That was my point to Bob. If Pitt and Cuse told the Big East BOD formally, how did it not get reported. My understanding is the told them the thursday before.

Katz probably had to dredge up old news today because he couldn't find a scoop to swipe from McMurphy without giving credit. You know, like Katz did last week: http://media.sportsbybrooks.com/2012/05/...sadick.jpg

My question is if Pitt and Cuse told the Big East BOD formally, why did Marinatto not find out about until just prior to the kickoff of the WVU-UMD game, when ESPiN's cameras were primed to catch him looking stupid?

Even if we did tell BOD we are looking elsewhere.....what are they really going to do at this point? Kick us out? I don't think so....Least we are being upfront to them...and yes TJ has been speaking publically to our fanbase for months now.....I just hope it works out for all of us in the end....

Jurich may well have told them he wishes to go. That doesn't mean he has somewhere to go. The ACC is laughable, and the B12 may or may not decide to expand.
