RE: Names for the divisions: Colonial and Frontier?

I agree. Especially considering how hard it will be trying to say with a straight face that your team competes in the "Big East West."
I agree on just selling the naming rights to the highest bidder. Think that's a fresh idea and companies would love to bid on it. What a cool new way to get your name out there to millions of people. And of course it'll give us all a little bigger piece of pie. Why not?

Hurricane for the East division. Cyclone for the West Division. Both are strong and damage anything that gets in their way!

I also think FAR TOO MANY people take the term "Western division" too literal. Yes, the conferance is expanding westward but there will be central timezone teams in the West. It was never expressed that the nBe was going to base an entire division in the West.
That said, Boise SDSU, UH, SMU, and Memphis, are blazing new frontier together. Let's bring in a BYU, Air Force, or Fresno, as #14, and brand this thing.
The Frontier Division
Air Force
Boise State
Houston
Memphis
NAVY
SDSU
SMU
I like it.
Can't we just bring all three in? That way we don't have to have some silly eastern team in the west.

Although technically.....the two Florida schools really wouldn't belong in a division called Colonial. Florida was just as much a "Frontier" as any of the Western states were but I think people would be able to diffentiate between the two.....except for that one Eastern team in the West....like Navy.
At the same time, Florida, well really East Florida and West Florida, were British colonies at the same time as the original 13 colonies. For various reasons, they were not involved in the events that brought about the Revolution nor did they join it, but they were colonies of equal standing with the other 13 American colonies plus the then 5 territories that became Canada including Quebec.
