It should be noted that the voting story regarding Western Kentucky is basically a rumor. It's been passed around verbally. If it did happen, it would have been in during the football season in 2004 or sometime in 2005. This would be right after we gave Temple the invite and those are the only two years Willis was at EMU. Western Kentucky started FBS in 2009.

I don't ever remember reading an article or report stating that the scenerio mentioned was fact. Not saying it couldn't have happened, but its not something that was in the news. The story makes sense because of the timeline and details. Unfortunately I don't know if its ever been proven true. And obviously HuronDave would know the situation better because of EMU, in short it could very well be true.

Wow, this is good information to know.. Can someone tell me if there is some hate rival between these two schools (Toledo and EMU) now? I would think that there is no love lost when the two get together. I think we play them this season..

As geographically close as the 2 programs are and being they are in the same division, whereas BGSU is in the East; it's only natural that a rivarly has developed. Toledo recruits MI hard for talent.
