We signed 2 linebackers late and we still need a running back. The official Scout recruiting site for commits shows nothing. I think Garron and Stibich were offered, but not really sure they are in this class yet.

might want to read that again. say he is committed to us

Now that's a real time update! When I found and posted it last night it said Hawaii and today it says NIU. Hopefully it still says that tomorrow too.

Yes it DID say Hawaii early this AM.

This class definitely has that ole time religion feel to it. More IL recruits, solid in Wisc,St Louis and a few sprinkles from a couple different places and BIG *** Lineman. Can't wait to see whats under the tree Wednesday!

I believe Steger is a preferred walk on.

Looks like we got a good one in Bowers....don't know why he didn't come here in the first place.

The dark side tempted him. He paid his dues welcome to the Huskie family.

Is the consensus that we have 22-23 scholarships open depending on if Ryan Brown did get on scholarship?

Where are all the recruits from the Southeast? Florida, Alabama, Miss, etc. Heck we played a bowl game down there and all we have to show is the one 2* recruit from Florida? Hope there are some additions from that area on Wednesday.

and I won't even mention Texas.

Canoy is a grey-shirt, meaning he won't be on campus until Spring of 2013 and counts toward 2013 scholarships vs this year. He said that "NIU is out of scholarships." Don't know if that means with known verbals or we have a couple of unknowns that will be revealed Wednesday.

Wow so the kid to a free ride but has to wait 1 year before he can come to NIU...

So what do kids like this do for a year other than work out?

I thought Grey-shirt means no scholarship till 2013. I think he begins school in the fall

John Mackovic of The Desert Sun: "Grey shirt is a term used to designate an incoming freshman who waits until the second semester to enroll rather than the fall. College athletes are allowed a five year calendar to play four seasons. The calendar begins once one is enrolled. By waiting until the spring to start college, a player will be playing his last season in the sixth year after high school rather than the fifth. "

Why?

Is it a choice in order to get the grey shirt/scholly or is there another reason(s)?

So basically we are getting one additional season of maturity from him...if he takes a RS some time in his career. If he doesn't take a RS in his career then we are losing a year of participation/experience on the practice squad.

Could he enroll at Kish and workout with teammates?
