The Music City Bowl will be a 6:30pm kickoff on ESPN on 12/30, the same day as the Pinstripe Bowl. Unless the Pinstripe is on ESPN2, I'd expect this game to be a 2:30-3pm kickoff.

Football Bowl Association meetings are in about two weeks in Phoenix. We should hear before then any news regarding the Liberty Bowl along with the official certification of at least 2-3 bowls (Pinstripe, Dallas and the Cure Bowl in Orlando).

Actually good news, considering the weather could potentially be in the 20s-30s.

Keeps people in town for expensive dinner menus too if they head over to Manhattan to see Rockefeller Center, the Christmas Tree, and the other NYC night life sites.

Locals like me will get out of Dodge and avoid the the crowd. We can eat cheaper at home or on the Jersey side on the way home. We can always see the NYC lifestyle another night.

I'd just head downtown, no way in hell do I wanna be in midtown at the time of year which goes double if I'm working there. Have 'em go to Arthur Ave in the Bronx or Little Italy downtown for real good Italian food. Or head over to Harlem for Dinosaur BBQ or one of the good restaurants in the Flatiron.

Makes sense Matt...I would expect a daytime game for the Pinstripe Bowl. Actually with it getting dark by 5pm...I would hope for a noon or 1pm kickoff

mid-afternoon provides warmest potential temperatures and then lets out-of-town visitors hit the bars and restaurants. makes sense.

I do not consider a cold minor bowl in New York city a prime time or desirable destinion for most football fans. I think it will be hard sell to get Louisville fans to travel there. We travel well and took over 20,000 to 25,000 to Memphis, which can be very cold. However, most drive there, going to the Apple will require most to fly. I just think mosr may have second thoughts on spending that must to set in freezing weather. I think Big East football is becoming totally FUBAR! We are trading a fricking bowl in Canada for a unproven bowl in the Big Apple. Let's face the truth, the current Big East Bowl choices suck a big one! And given Pitt, Rutgers, Syracuse, and UConn do not travel well, we are getting all the undesireable bowls. Unless we split, and get our football act together, ever one of the current eight football schools in the Big East will secertly continue to be looking for a real football conference to play in. I think the Pin Stripe bowl is about as desireable as an ice bath in Alaska in the winter. Sorry, but I have to tell the truth on this one.

I agree. I prefer going to NYC over Jacksoville anyday.

Not me and I do not ever see the Pin Stripe being a BCS bowl!

Totally disagree. For the same reason that you say Louisville fans will not travel well to the Pin Stripe Bowl in NYC is the same reason that Syracuse, Uconn, Pitt and Rutgers have for not traveling well to faraway bowls in the south. We cant easily drive to those bowls. This bowl, imo is better than any bowl that the BE has not in the bcs or in Orlando, and may even give the Charlotte Bowl a run for the money. This bowl will also compete for any of the acc's bowls outside of the top 3 bowls. Same goes for the Pac 10.

And you can bet the farm that the 4 schools that you mentioned are going to be the schools that are regularly selected for this bowl. Outside of Pitt, I would bet money (if I were a betting man) that those 4 schools will travel as well to this bowl as any BE team will travel to any other bowl.

Don't forget WVU, cuse. Mountaineer fans go everywhere...

I doubt it will ever be a BCS Bowl as well. Same as the Papa Johns Bowl.

Wilkie, I remember some people saying the same thing about the Fiesta Bowl when it was founded. And we all know how well that prediction went...

I completely agree with you but would add that WVU should also travel well here. UConn and Rutgers have done well so far traveling to the South and Canada and such. Trading the International for the Pinstripe is a no-brainer. Toronto is a nice city but its not quite New York.

Oh, I agree with you and Brista. I just singled out the 4 northern schools, because these were the ones that were mentioned for not traveling well. I am not sure about Pitt, but SU has sent 14-15000 fans down to the Gator Bowl. Thats not great, but it should not surprise anyone for SU to bring 30,000 fans to NYC for a bowl game. Uconn and Rutgers are both less than an hour away from this bowl. It would be like a home game for their fans. Would anyone be surprised if these schools brought 30-40,000 fans to this bowl? I wouldnt. Thats why those 3 schools, I believe moreso, than even WV, would get selected for this bowl. NYC doesnt need anyone to fill up hotel rooms during the holidays or any other period.

WVU may be south of the Mason-Dixon line. But I don't think 7 miles qualifies us as a southern school, cuse. You need to brush up on your geography...

Also, no matter how many fans Pitt, or any other BEast school brings to a game in NYC, WVU fans coming to New York would dwarf any contingent...

I would think Rutgers would bring more fans to the game, though no one would stay in a hotel. WVU could equal Uconn though.

One sell is New Year's eve at Times Square, something most Card fans probably never have done. I've never done it either and would certainly consider it if UofL made that bowl.

NY Hotels are really expensive over the holidays...lots of fans will have price shock.
