Will Louisville Show Up? Can Connecticut make its own Statement?
These are the only two teams remaining that control their own destiny towards winning the BE BCS bid.

Would a win tonight change the mood of Cards fan and motivate the team towards a BE title? If they put together any type of defense they are going to be tough to handle.

Connecticut could certainly make many take notice with a win tonight. If nothing else is would bump them up a notch in securing a better bowl game.

Should be a good game. I expect the RENT be rocking. We will see how UCONN's D hold up against UL O. UCONN might have to score a lot of points to keep pace. If we get bad weather, it might favor a running game vs. a passing game. 3.5 hours until game time.

Louisville is going to have trouble against Connecticut. Louisville also doesn't control its own destiny. If there is a 3 way tie Louisville isn't guaranteed a berth. Connecticut does control its own destiny.

It is cold, wet, windy, and going to be sloppy tonight here in CT. Glad the wife had to work, I almost went to this game as a casual observer. Brohm is going to have trouble tonight.

Yep. Typical Northeast weather. It will favor the team with great RBs and UCONN got 2. We are getting the weather ready for the USF Bulls the following week also :)

I hope to see Brohm get sacked plenty tonight.

If Louisville were to run the table the only possible 1 loss teams would be Cincinnati and Connecticut. The Cards would have beaten them both. Something I would hope the coach is trying to motivate his team with.

That's right, but Louisville wouldn't get the tiebreaker. If it's a 3-way tie then the team with the highest BCS ranking would get the BCS bid.

That only if each team is each team is 1-1 against the other two. This is from the BE website.

BOWL CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES REPRESENTATIVE TIEBREAKER
PROCEDURE
In order to determine the Conference’s representative to the Bowl Championship
Series, the procedures listed below will be followed.
All references to “rankings” refer to the BCS Poll released after the regular season is
completed for all BIG EAST members.
TWO-WAY TIE
The winner of the head to head match-up will represent the BIG EAST in the
Bowl Championship Series
THREE-WAY TIE
A “MINI-CONFERENCE” IS CREATED AMONGST THE THREE TIED
TEAMS
Scenario I:
All three teams have either a 6-1 or 5-2 record and have each won one and
lost one against the other tied teams in the mini-conference. In this case, the
highest ranked team amongst the three earns the bid. If two of the three
teams are tied for the highest ranking, the bid is earned by the team winning
the head-to-head match up.
Scenario II:
All three teams have 5-2 records, and within the mini-conference, Team A is
2-0, Team B is 1-1, and Team C is 0-2. Team A earns bid regardless of
ranking.

Here is the link to the PDF of the complete tiebreaker rules.

The Big East used the BCS ranking as a tiebreaker back in 2004. It might have been because of the 5 way tie was to messy, but they used the BCS ranking. That's why Pitt beat out Syracuse for the BCS bid.

If the Mountaineers win out, West Virginia will get the BCS bid. They'll have the higher ranking. All of the sports announcers have been saying that teams who have never been there before stand little chance of getting the opportunity. If that doesn't spark an interest in instituting a playoff, then nothing will. 07-coffee3

Head to head decides the title before rankings. If three or more are tied and no one has swept the others then you use rankings.

The link above for the tiebreaker rules is from bigeast.org. They are the same rules they have used for years. Does some one have info on a change I don't know about?

WVU and USF win out. USF goes. USF and Rutgers win. Rutgers goes.

No offense to louisville and uconn but this game is so boring. Seriously the highlight of the game was that wr throwing an int and U conn didnt do anything with the possession for some reason with 1 min 30 secs and 2 time outs. Maybe the rain has something to do with it but this really really really boring

Have you tried to play football in a down pour? I didn't think so.

Maybe the weather is slowing them down but I was expecting a little more action. Neither offense has been able put much together. Maybe I'll have to switch to defensive struggle mode.

UCONN is moving the ball but we have not punched it in yet. 2 times to the inside of the 10 yards line and come away with nothing? UCONN needs to open it up in the 2nd half.

Who cares if its raining? That doesn't change the fact that the game is really boring. It may have been more interesting if it wasn't raining but thats not the case right now.
