RE: I have a dream MACsters
Also, when is the MAC going to take steps to strip Marshall of its conference championships in football?

Not sure, but given the MAC's limited budget I suspect they'll include the Herd for quite some time! I wonder if Marshall doesn't still use some clips of their MAC championship squads in promos and such...pretty hard to find highlights since you joined C-USA.

Also I just wanted to add that you are talking smack to a school in a superior conference in all sports, yes we are in the middle of the pack, yet you are still in the MAC, a vastly lesser conference, and still can't finish at the top in most cases.

Gee whiz, my greatest aspiration is to finish in a 3-way time for 8th, or 10th, or whatever the heck. Really movin' on up there, G.

Folks here are talking smack to nothing more than a cheating also-ran in that "lesser conference" who BEGGED to be allowed back in, only to jet at the first opportunity. By the time the NCAA sanctions kicked in, before you left, you were, at best, middle of the pack in the MAC as well. You've done NOTHING since getting caught, and nothing since leaving.

Thanks for stopping by.04-chairshot

So when is the MAC going to quit using footage of Marshall football for their tv promos?

The day after you give back the championship trophies and rings you got while cheating, AGAIN.

So why does the MAC still allow Marshall to keep its trophies and rings? Couldn't a majority of schools in the MAC vote to strip MU of that stuff?

Why do you guys believe it was a step down for MU to join CUSA (or as many of you refer to C-DOA)?

I did!!!!

Plus Im VERY excited to see Wolfe in a Bears uni. I think they didnt need to draft him in the 3rd as he would of still been around later, but just the same I thinl he will compliment Cedrc Benson very well!

See we can agree on some things. 04-cheers

RE: I have a dream MACsters
Personally, I don't think it was a step down for Marshall to join C-USA. It's just that I think some of the rationale has not proven to come to fruition (i.e. higher home attendance in football and hoops, more traveling fans, etc.). Your revenues have increased, but I suspect your expenses have proportionately......you do have more bowl access when you have a winning record, and the Liberty Bowl is a great bowl (although I liked it better when it was a champion vs. champion match-up vs. MWC).

One thing that Herdlers complained about in the MAC was a supposed lack of commitment to IA facilities and upgrades...I think that if you are fair-minded about it you'd have to conclude that the vast majority of MAC programs have been substantial investments in their facilities the last few years, especially when you consider athletics in the MAC are a break-even proposition at best in most cases.

Because WE have moved on and frankly, just don't give a flying fig about Marha anymore. Not worth the time and trouble.

Glad to see you guys don't give a flying fig about the history of football champions in the MAC going back even a decade.

What tradition.

Do I need to dig up Oddball's old list of transgressions Marsha had while here TWICE? Talk about TRADITION! 04-chairshot

Herd is helping to pull down C-USA football Sagarins....C-USA and the MAC are essentially even Sagarin ratings now....Yeah, I know, attendance is stronger in C-USA. No argument there.....
