And what would you talk about in September?? How much money is lost on Saturdays while watching tOSU or Michigan?? There sure isn't anything else to talk about in September that you couldn't talk about now.

So, what is there to talk about in September for MACsters??
Your losses. Your NCAA Violations. Your program, a shadow of its former self.

We can talk about your beautiful landscaping!

The only thing Marshall has in common with MLK is that both got blown away in Memphis.

MAC
If only all winless MAC teams could leave for a conference where they could become champion.

UCF and Marshall give Temple and Buffalo hope.

What has happened to Marshall? UCF is the better of the two programs now. Hope the extra $1 million or so dollars in CUSA revenue sharing has helped subdue the fact that Marshall is now a bottom feeder. Marshall was never good in sports other than football. Now you guys just have nothing to root for since you don't have that anymore.

2006-07 Marshall Sports:

Football: 5-6; 7th place in CUSA
Women's Soccer: 5-11; 11th in CUSA
Men's Soccer: 4-10; last place in CUSA
Women's Volleyball: 19-13; 2nd place in CUSA
Men's Basketball: 13-19; 10th place in CUSA
Women's Basketball: 15-15; 8th place in CUSA
Baseball: 21-32; last place in CUSA
Softball: 32-26; 4th place in CUSA
Men's Golf: 9th place in CUSA (out of 11)
Women's Golf: 7th place in CUSA (out of 9)

Thats what happens when you move up from a weak ass pathetic conf like the garbage you dwell in.

You enjoy that.

There has been much to be excited about since moving UP from the MAC. Its hard to move right into a better overall conference and kick ass and take names like we did in the MAC.

Glad though to see you take the time to look at all of our sports.

I couldnt even tell you who NIU's starting QB is and Im from Illinois!

NIU, is it better to stay where you are at and not grow, or is it better to move up and experience the growing pains that comes with eventual growth? We became stagnant after a few years in the MAC......even though our football record has been down, the attendance and donations have been up. There is more motivation in our athletic programs now than there has been since our move up from 1-AA. That motivation will pay it's dividends on top of the extra $'s and exposure that our move to CUSA has brought us.

RE: I have a dream MACsters
Just one correction, you said we finished in 10th in basketball when really we finished in a three way tie with UAB and UTEP. Since we had an overall record of 2-1 vs UAB and UTEP, and UTEP had a 1-1 record, and UAB had a 1-2 record we owned the tie-breaker and actually finished 8th.

If you got your stats from the CUSA website, then they list teams that are in a tie by the best overall record. If the best overall record is tied then they list them in alphabetical order. Just a little FYI.

Also I just wanted to add that you are talking smack to a school in a superior conference in all sports, yes we are in the middle of the pack, yet you are still in the MAC, a vastly lesser conference, and still can't finish at the top in most cases.

Northern Illinois in the MAC
Basketball - 11th
Baseball - 5th
Football - 6th
Men's Tennis - 5th out of 6
Men's Soccer - 1st (Hooray for NIU they got a soccer title)
Wrestling - 3rd out of 6
Women's Basketball - 6th
Women's Soccer - 7th
Softball - 8th
Women's Tennis 8th out of 9
Volleyball - 3rd

Here are a few RPI comparisons that I could find.
Conference RPI comparisons
Football
C-USA - 9
MAC - 10 (That sucks, you were so close)

Basketball
C-USA - 11
MAC - 14 (Oh no, you are slipping a little)

Baseball
C-USA - 5
MAC - 18 (OH MY GOD, what happened)

Softball
C-USA - 7
MAC - 19 (Almost the same as baseball, the MAC must have some hand-eye coordination problems)

Women's Basketball
C-USA - 9
MAC - 15

5 for 5, well at least you were in the top 10 in football, way to crush the Sun Belt. Maybe you will join C-USA in going ahead of the WAC this year since Boise isn't as good and you are adding that powerhouse Temple.

Lastly, C-USA has a top five team in at least three sports.
Baseball - Rice
Basketball - Memphis
Men's Soccer - SMU

Other than BG in women's basketball, I don't know if the MAC has any other top 25 schools in any sport. You probably do, but I am tired of wasting my time with you and the MAC.

Middle of the pack in what, Softball? You guys are near the bottom for most sports in CUSA.

Ohio is top 25 in volleyball. Central Michigan is top 15 in wrestling. NIU was top 30 in soccer. Miami is top 15 in hockey.

You know very little my cheating Marshall friends.

Gee whiz, my greatest aspiration is to finish in a 3-way time for 8th, or 10th, or whatever the heck. Really movin' on up there, G.

Folks here are talking smack to nothing more than a cheating also-ran in that "lesser conference" who BEGGED to be allowed back in, only to jet at the first opportunity. By the time the NCAA sanctions kicked in, before you left, you were, at best, middle of the pack in the MAC as well. You've done NOTHING since getting caught, and nothing since leaving.

Forgot one thing...Once dead last in track, always dead last in track...Couldn't score more than 10 points in the MAC Championships. Since you doormats left, MAC track has gotten stronger. Good luck trying to score in the C-DOA championships.

RE: I have a dream MACsters
Guys, Marshall football is "carrying the water" here, just like it did in the MAC days. If you take out football performance, Marshall was either dead last or in the last 3 in the MAC men's all sports trophy races every year, and now that their football program has fallen down a notch or two, they are in essentially in the same position in C-USA, plus C-USA is much stronger in baseball. (arguably stronger in hoops, too, but that isdue to one program, Memphis, which is probably angling for a BE invite down the road).

Seems to me that Marshall fans are very happy with the C-USA affiliation, and most (not all) MAC fans were happy to see Marshall go, so it's a 'win-win" all around I guess. And Marshall's revenues have also gone up in C-USA, but I guess I'm not sure if their athletic department is breaking even with the higher costs of affiliation with C-USA. Not sure it matters if the fans and administration are happy with C-USA.
