It's not what drives this board nowadays, and it's not what many of us want to hear -- we want a quick fix coach, a quick fix recruiting class, a quick fix schedule change, etc. -- but it's probably the most rational, pragmatic approach to our current situation -- hoping for incremental improvement over time, the way it normally happens when we're on an uptick. I just hope we're on an uptick.
But still, I like MT.org . . . so , , , if we could just find another Dana and another Lee, Bedford, and Turner, we'd be great with what we already have! Don't we have a coach without a contract and three schollies open if Dedric leaves? C'mon, ambassadors, make it happen!
The Opie hangover has everyone out of patience.......
You might be right backer, but take me for example. Opie, as you call him, me wonder boy, I couldn't stand Josh. Throwing out the Tic and Johnny Show, he's by far my least favorite coach. I was extremely happy when GT came and got him. That said, yes josh wore my patience out but the second he was out of here my patience was restored. Just the news of a coach you can't stand anymore getting fired or pushed out should energize ones excitement for the program again.
That was an awesome post by MTigerBlue.
Tubby's got to restore that Tiger pride and until he has he hasn't.
He had things headed in more or less the right direction then he **** the bed.
He's absolutely got to put a good 2017 recruiting class together and somehow will next year's team into at least an NIT Final Four.

Final four would be a good start.
Championship is what Cal did.
Every time Tubby tells the CA our expectations need lowering..I'm raising mine.

Have you EVER written a post and NOT bashed Pastner? It seems that makes you happier than the Tigers doing well. You are also very quiet about your man Tubby when he screws up big time as he has done several times this year.
Hold both coaches to the same standard. BTW, one is still playing and one is not.

I thought I was on ignore. Get me back on there and go watch your boyfriend in the nit. The chances I take lessons or advice from your lame negative azz are zilch, zero, and negative nothing. You love the guy that ruined our program. GKPA

Martin is one of the few radiant aspects of the dreary season. He was an iron man with solid statistics and strong defense and willingness to listen and learn. I think he will improve.

1983, I think you're right. I think what Martin lacks (taking his man off the dribble to either side, for instance) can be taught/developed. But he's also got a GUTS level that I'd like to see more of on this team. And I think you either have that, or you don't. Martin's got it. He reminds me of Joe when he fearlessly goes to the rim, and he might be a better finisher than Joe once he's hit. Add to the fact that his free throw shooting improved over the season and we've definitely got something to work with. I feared all season he'd get injured, but he shook off every hard knock he took.
I'd still like to have a PG recruit to spell him for a few minutes.

Agree that we definately need another point guard. At the moment, Tubby has not recruited a PG, although Johnson and Nickelberry reportly are good ball handlers.

At his size, yes. I should clarify that we need a productive point guard. Perhaps he will blossom into one eventually, but he is not there yet and we need one next season.
